Holy crap, The Bird People in China is coming out on Blu-ray?! That is a great film. Is it a US disc or an import?

Old School - December 16

In an early announcement to retailers, Dreamworks Home Entertainment in conjunction with Paramount Home Entertainment have revealed that they will bring the comedy 'Old School' to Blu-ray on December 16th in its unrated form. Details of the release have yet to be announced, but you can expect it to be similar to previous HD DVD release.

Sweet! Hello lossless on the first two; goodbye combo for the third!

For those of you who want I Am Legend but have not yet bought it, you have the option of a collector's edition coming this fall. Yes, really.

This is just total bullshit. They really could have used the budget for this double dip towards ramping up more classic films on Blu-ray or hell, use the budget to give us lossless on titles we are all bitching about (Speed Racer!).

On top of that, who is going to spend 50 dollars on a double dip, when the original Blu-ray with the same picture and sound is selling for about 15?

Warner, please take this double dip and your digital copy and shove it up your collective rear ends.

I Am Legend was the worst blind buy I've ever had. But I'd still have to recommend the Blu-ray. 2 different versions of the film and tons of features. Don't see any reason to double dip.

I hope everyone skips the I Am Legend double-dip. The 1-disc looks and sounds great, and it's been $18.99 on Amazon since day 1 of release.

Personally, I'd rather get a double dip of something like Training Day with the TrueHD audio.

The Rocker --> October 14th

If any movie could be called the anti-Dark Knight, it's this. Seven weeks after this one hit theaters it's on DVD and Blu, after an absolutely horrendous theatrical run. Further research into why the turnaround is so quick shows that it debuted at #12 on 2,700 screens, and last weekend hit #22 with the same amount of screens and a ~$350 per-screen average.

As long as Dr. Strangelove is coming sometime in the next few months that's all I care about. I need some room on my HD DVR and it would be nice to clear my HD recording of it.
