Those ELF specs are the pits too...it's not like they have to produce any new extras! Just port over what is already there, even if just kept in standard definition.....the original DVD was a two disc Infinifilm release for pete's sake! Sure, it had an unnecessary full screen version that would obviously be dropped, but losing the majority of the previous extras will not help encourage any upgrading by many past purchasers....

What is puzzling to me is that Warner is usually pretty good about porting over the dvd features for the Blu-rays. I wonder what has changed now. The way things are going over there, it wouldn't be out of the realm to see Dark Knight come out with just Dolby 5.1. That would be a sad day indeed.

If there are really some extras dropped, what would really make that sad for fans of the film is that the disc with the oh-so-necessary digital copy could be used to hold some supplements rather than being a throwaway.

I don't know which one people generally like better, but I hope it's the theatrical cut on Sin City. I don't like how it's split into pieces in the extended version.
Then again, including both would be the right way to do it if they're willing to make it a 2-disc set. (I'm not sure branching would work given the broken up nature of the extended version.) I hope they include the cooking school extra too. However, I have a feeling they may release a barebones edition now and save the SE to tie in with the sequel, whenever that gets made.

I really hope they fix up the audio. Some of the background noise during dialogue is very annoying.

Looks like Sin City is not coming out on 10/21 after all, according to The Digital Bits:
While we're on the subject of Buena Vista, there have been a lot of reports around the Net that the studio is planning to release Sin City on Blu-ray Disc on 10/21. That's a big negatory, folks. We've checked with the studio and have officially learned that the title has been pushed back into 2009, along with Finding Nemo. Just so you know... you know?
