This might have been discussed before, but what's up with the upcoming Heathers Blu-ray release?
I know that there is a standard Blu release coming out. But, when I was at the recent Monster Mania convention a couple of weeks ago, I gave praise to the Anchor Bay guys for getting this movie out in this format so quickly (Quickly in ratio to how many Blu-ray discs that they have released so far) and I also asked about why the U.K. had gotten their box sets through Anchor Bay (Hellraiser puzzle box, Phantasm sphere) though we hadn't received releases like that from them in a while .
They then told me about the "Limited edition locker set" coming out and that it had both the standard release and the Blu-ray release in it. The only problem that I'm having is that I can't find this information anywhere. These where men that specifically handled release from Anchor Bay telling me this. So, if anyone has any information, it would be appreciated.

Discussion of this set here. If it comes with the Blu-ray, then the $80.99 price tag makes a little more sense, but not much. If you were buying it for the Blu-ray, why would you want/need the DVD?

interesting that the bluray for Mamma Mia! comes out in the UK, a month earlier than the US release. (Nov. 24)
and it better effin' have the deleted song: 'The Name of the Game' as one of the supplement material.

The same rang true with 'COMBO DISC's' with the now defunct HD-DVD.
I'm looking forward to whatever they decide to bring out from Anchor Bay! I was just watching the 'cubed' R2 Hellraiser Pt.3 - Oh how much that sucked... especially the cenobite that shot CD's... Oh the earlier 90's killed horror.
Revolver and Mirrormask are going to be had I really thought Mirrormask was especially nice -- it had a Pan's feel to it.

"Warner Home Video has revealed that the upcoming Blu-ray release of 'The Shawshank Redemption' has been delayed from its November 4th release date by a month, and will now hit store shelves on December 2nd. Technical specs and special features have still yet to be announced, but we do know it will be a Digibook release featuring a BD-50."

Anchor Bay has announced a mid-November debut for 'Heathers,' which will hit Blu-ray in standard and limited edition versions.
Widely considered to be among the best teen films of the past few decades, the 1988 cult classic has received numerous DVD releases over the years. Finally due to make its next-gen debut on November 18, Anchor Bay will issue the Winona Ryder-Christian Slater black comedy on Blu-ray in standard and limited "Locker Set" editions.
Tech specs for the standard edition include remastered 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround audio.
Including the same stand-alone Blu-ray as the standard release, the "Limited Edition Locker Set' will also contain a standard DVD edition of the film, and come housed in a deluxe package with additional collectibles (to be announced).
Anchor Bay has not yet issued supplemental details for either Blu-ray edition, but full details are expected soon. We'll keep you posted.
Suggested retail price for the standard Blu-ray has been set at $29.98, and $89.97 for the 'Limited Edition Locker Set.'

This'll probably be my fifth or sixth (and hopefully final) dip on this movie. I'll be passing up on the locker edition though, as the Anchor Bay LE DVD tin is unwieldy enough for me.

Sped over here like Larry to Jack Tripper's house to post this.
Both X-Files Movies are coming to Blu-ray on 12/2. Not really interested in either, but read further:
Could Fox finally be laying off the crystal meth and pricing catalog titles at a normal price point? This is very encouraging news...
Both X-Files Movies are coming to Blu-ray on 12/2. Not really interested in either, but read further:
The X-Files: I Want to Believe will be released on single-disc DVD (SRP $29.98), 3-disc DVD special edition (SRP $34.98) and Blu-ray (SRP $39.99). The single-disc DVD will include both the theatrical and unrated extended editions of the film in anamorphic widescreen video with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. (FYI, the unrated version is 4 minutes longer.) Extras will include audio commentary by writer/director Chris Carter and co-writer Frank Spotnitz, 2 featurettes (Body Parts: Special Make-up Effects and Chris Carter: Statements on Green Production), deleted scenes, a gag reel, a music slideshow featuring Xzibit's Dying 2 Live, theatrical trailers and still galleries (featuring collectibles, storyboards, concept art and unit photography). To this, the 3-disc special edition will add the 3-part Trust No One: Can The X-Files Remain a Secret? feature-length documentary (includes You Can Go Home Again, Misinformation and Don't Give Up), as well as a Digital Copy version of the film. The Blu-ray Disc will feature all of the above along with Blu-ray exclusive features, including the BD-Live web-enabled The X-Files Dossier: Agent Dakota Whitney Files (which allows you to examine case files and participate in forensic challenges), Picture-in-Picture enhancement of the commentary track, The X-Files Complete Interactive Timeline (featuring over 80 video clips from various X-Files episodes), additional in-movie viewing options (including a real-time index, Behind-the-Camera material and Storyboards and Concept Art), an isolated score track and D-Box enhancement. The Blu-ray video will be AVC/MPEG-4, with audio in the usual DTS-HD MA. We believe the newly-produced video-based bonus material will be in full HD.
The X-Files: Fight the Future on Blu-ray Disc (SRP $29.99) will feature the original DVD audio commentary by creator Chris Carter and director Rob Bowman, a new BonusView picture-in-picture commentary by Carter, Bowman, co-producer/writer Frank Spotnitz and producer Daniel Sackheim (also available audio only), the exclusive Blackwood: The Making of The X-Files: Fight the Future featurette (in HD), 2 exclusive featurettes (Visual Effects and Scoring - both in HD), plus the original The Making of The X-Files Movie featurette, a gag reel (HD), an alternate version of the Bee Sting scene (in HD), theatrical trailers (in HD), still galleries and D-Box enhancement. As with I Want to Believe on Blu-ray, you'll also get additional in-movie viewing options (including a real-time index, Behind-the-Camera material and Storyboards and Concept Art). Again, the video will be AVC/MPEG-4, with audio in DTS-HD MA. Note that the Blu-ray Disc versions of I Want to Believe and Fight the Future will also be available in a 2-pack for SRP $59.98.
