I feel that any racial gag from that era is of that era and should be seen as such. What was acceptable then definitely isn't acceptable now but that doesn't mean it should be erased from cinema history. Even throw-away gags like little Sunflower.
But then, I'm one of those cinema nuts that believes all films should be released on home video untampered and as seen in theaters - Warts and all. I know that'll never happen in some cases (usually with the films I love) but I can wish. I'll still buy Fantasia on Blu-Ray and re-watch it over and over again as I did with the DVD, the Laser Disc and the VHS copies I've owned in the past.

digitalbits also notes the Fantasia films have been mixed in 7.1 DTS HD MA sound (...matrixed or discrete?!?)

Is there such a thing as DTS-HD matrixed sound? I thought HD by nature was always discreet. I have no idea though.

that's my understanding, Toy Story 3 in the theatre and on the bluray will be discreet. Every other 7.1 bluray is the 5.1 mix (front center right, rear right and left right are discreet) with the two channel surround sound tracks spread to the four rear speakers

Lame, but I guess 4 discs was pushing it. I would have taken a 3rd BD to hold the features for both instead of DVD versions.

Amazon has the pre order up right now and Wow the fantasia 2 movie collection is only 31.99!! right now.
I thought for sure that the lowest we could hope for was going to be in 40 price range being that its 2 movies and all.
Have a feeling it will get down to 24.99 by release day and hopefully even though its a 2 movie set disney will do some sort of 10.00 coupon.
that would be supper cool to get both movies for 14.99 total.
as for fantasia world, perhaps some higher ups took notice of it and thought perhaps they could potentially turn it into another Fantasia theatrical release in a few years or something.
