re: Star Wars

Meh, pointless change and actually the only thing that really stood out was the part in the bottom right pic that MWB posted and that looks silly.

re: Star Wars

are we seriously debating the physical characteristics and properties of a fictitious substance used to "freeze" people without killing them?

re: Star Wars

If Lucas has to muck with things, why doesn't he replace Jake Lloyd with a CGI Anakin, or replace Jar Jar with a jive-talking wookie voiced by JB Smoove?

Is it too late to replace Jake with Haley Joel Osment? And Hayden with Leonardo DiCaprio?

I remember those days. Even Paul Walker and James Van Der Beek were in consideration right?

And for Episode II, since Boss Nass finished the first movie with the word "peace", he was going to open Clones with the word "war!".

Ah, the good old, innocent days before Vader said Nooooooooo! at the end of Jedi.

holy shit. I'm not a big SW nut nor do I own SW anything besides ANH and ESB on DVD but...seeing this...makes me want that to be a poster at least. Gorgeous imagery. Too bad this BD set isn't what I'm looking for...alas.

What bugged me most was how Ford's mouth looked a lot bigger and was moving yet the carbonite around it didn't move at all. The new version looks much, much better IMO.

re: Star Wars

Amazon says mine is shipping soon. I waited for this release specifically to sign up for the free month of Amazon Prime. Glad I did because it will be in my hands on Friday!

What's up with the math here?

Blu-ray review
Movie 4.0 of 5 4.0
Video 4.0 of 5 4.0
Audio 5.0 of 5 5.0
Extras 4.5 of 5 4.5
Overall 5.0 of 5 5.0

4.0 + 4.0 + 5.0 + 4.5 = 4.3, not 5.0. I don't get it.

I don't go to blu-ray.com but it looks like what IGN does, where it's not an average, but just an overall rating scored separately.

And that is a pretty badass image of Vader.

Some sites don't do an average for the overall. I know, it's weird...

Crap. I wasn't planning on buying this set but that review has tempted me.

It's not a poster - it's a screen-grab from Episode III.

re: Star Wars

So has anyone's order on Amazon gone into the shipping soon stage? I'm still weary about these Friday releases and since I ordered back in January with a prime trial.

Mine hasn't, but I wouldn't worry about it (I'm also a PRIME member). I've found that will "big" releases like this, Amazon actually has them boxed up and shipped out to some of their local hubs in advance to assure first-day delivery...they're just waiting for the green-light from Amazon to deliver them - you should get your "shipping soon" notice in the morning.
