From what is known so far, it looks like the deleted scenes will be on the 3 bonus discs that are exclusive to the Complete Saga set.

New blu-ray trailer

Anybody else think it's a little telling that this one features mostly OT footage? Hehe

From the shot of the Emperor in front of the criss-crossed light sabers, it looks like they may have FINALLY fixed the fucking black slug!

Yeah, of all the stupid things that Lucas has tweaked over the years, why did he let that one go for so long? His thought processes really boggle the mind.

I don't think he's ever really given much of a crap about "fixing" shots. The SE's were an FX testbed for the prequels (he wanted to see how well digital FX could be applied to shots that had been designed without them in mind), so I think the SE "fixed" shots were chosen more for their variety of production challenges than for any "damn fool idealistic crusade" to improve the movies.

It also looks like they fixed..........whatever the Hell was done to the OT lightsabers on the 2004 DVDs.

The sound issues were probably corrected for this release. You will have to wait for the next release to get the picture errors fixed.

Are those basically cardboard slots at the 46 second mark? It is hard to tell, because it kind of looks like a regular hub, but then there is some cardboard overlap. I hate anything that could scratch up discs.

Any word on an insert? I'm not going to bother if Lucas is going to be so cheap as to not include an insert.

re: Star Wars

This packaging looks similar to the Alien set, so there would be no need for an insert.

It comes with a booklet labeled "guide to the galaxy".

re: Star Wars

Wow, quite a difference.

Of course if they fixed the contrast issue, they goofed on the colors because Vader's lightsaber looks lilac colored, like Sam (Mace Windu) Jackson's was. Not so much in the shots above but another shot from "Empire Strikes Back" with Vader holding the blade near the edge of the screen.

"Goofed?" Maybe. But consider instead the possibility that in the forthcoming revision, Darth Vader carries Mace Windu's lightsaber(!).

(I, of course, am teasing...but there are bound to be fans who become more than a little suspicious now.)

Anakin could have picked it up on his way to kill the little kids.

Well, there you have it. The color change in Return of the Jedi is a story change.

re: Star Wars

I am sorry if this has already been answered many times already, but are the special features from the prequel trilogy DVDs carried over to the Blu-Ray sets?

There's been no confirmation either way, but early indications are that not everything from the prequels SEs will be present on the blu-rays.

re: Star Wars

A month away and still no disc-by-disc breakdown. Silence is deafening?

I have no desire whatsoever to even consider the very fact that the prequels even exist, but I am curious as to what, if anything, will be corrected with the not-so-originals. The "Greedo shoots first" thing doesn't matter to me nearly as much as the "Vader says something out of a Star Wars spoof commercial and stops the film dead so he can go home to his ship" scene in "The Empire Strikes Back".

I swear if they just cut that shit out I'd be happy with it and would let any other issues slide...a little.

Figures. I was wondering why it was so hard to get an answer online, and every thread I found was yet another debate on the OT changes rather then the actual Blu set. Thanks for clearing that up.

You're looking at a 99% chance that they will NOT be on the BD set. I've looked at a few of the SF breakdowns for discs 7 - 9 and not one has mentioned the SF from the prequel dvds. I wonder if they'll offer an online link to the older features through BD-Live like they did with Terminator 2 Skynet Edition.

re: Star Wars

And something else that was asked earlier was about a DVD release, we're a month out from this release which is too short for the usual retailer pre-order date so it looks like there's no accompanying DVD release. Just putting that out there for anyone still wondering.
