in most cases it's the day before the release. However, I've been to a few stores that didn't allow me to pre-order the day before. They said that you had to do it at least the Saturday before or something like that.

Must be a YMMV situation.

I have checked at two stores and was told at both its fine to pre-order the day before the release. Reconfirmed that yesterday. Different employee.

some useful info

I can confirm the rebate for SW is still $15, even after Tuesday, I must say I can't believe they didn't lower it.

Also, starting thursday Return of the Living Dead will be the $7.99 DVD wit any purchase.. There will be about 30 horror DVD's at $9.99 as well.

Beyond that the music DVD sale is continuing with many ridiculous prices. I haven't read through here to see if anything has been mentioned yet. It might be worth its own thread, I'll have to pull together a list.

Let me know if anyone thinks there would be interest.

So SW will stay $35 even after release?

What do you mean about ridiculous prices on music DVDs? Maybe I need to read back a few pages.

it's still better to pre-order cuz you get a free poster if you pre-order.

I havea question that I don't think has been answered yet -

I pre-ordered Aladdin through Coconuts. I see that it's supposed to be priced at 12.99 after MIR for pre-orders, but my Coconuts has never had any signage to this effect. Is there a special rebate form I should ask for to get this price, or what?

The guys at my local Coconuts are clueless idiots, and I realize I should have just driven the extra ten minutes to the extra-helpful folks at FYE, but Coconuts is literally around the corner. Any help would be appreciated.

Ask to see the rebate slip before you pay. It is a special form.

I would guess its the $7.00 one that would give you the $12.99 price.

correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there only 1 release of Return of the Living Dead on DVD in Region 1? The one MGM put out.

also I will have to stop by Wherehouse to see what horror movies they have for 9.99.

I'll try and pull together a list today.

from memory there is.

Nightmare on Elm Street 1, 2, 3
Childs Play
The Fog
Amitville Horror
Rosemary's Baby
From Hell
Donnie Darko
Manhunter
Jason X
Jason Goes to Hell
Stephen Kings IT

and as far as the music sale is concerned, nearly every music DVD is currently on sale as low as $8.99. They are all generally $8.99 to $16.99. For example something like "The Who - Kids are all alirght" is only $9.99 for the deluxe special edition. Most of the MSRP of $19,99 are $8.99 on sale. There are like 300 dvd's in this promotion, so a list will be incomplete I imagine.

I thought I saw a $5 coupon for Strawberries somewhere on this board, but I have searched and cannot find it. Could someone please point me in the right direction? Thank You.

scott1598, yes, and that's been posted several times.

Could change if other stores drop their prices but for now its the best.

Plus you get a free poster.

Plus, if you had bought a $50 GF (get a $10 one free), your net price would have been less than $30.

Re: rebates. What if the copy you bought doesn't have an UPC sticker on it? I bought Star Wars at Coconuts.com (no UPC price sticker) and would like to have an alternative other than cutting the box. Thanks.
