If you have no sticker I can only assume you have to cut the box.
We have no Coconuts here, only FYE. They place the yellow/white sticker on all dvd's and most employees will now tell you to use the sticker.
Do Coconuts put stickers on any dvd's? If so, I suggest you return to the store, if its close, tell them you do not wish to cut the box and ask them to make you one.

I haven't seen the SW package, but the Indy box set had a paper backing with the UPC on it. I have no problem cutting that up if it's the case with this release.

Flimsy the packaging is, like it I do not. Much sturdier the Indiana Jones slipcover is.
Despite being packaged in an air bag, there is still a minor dent in the shiny slipcover.

My plan for the coconuts.com order is to submit without the UPC, get the rejection letter and resubmit using a photocopy of the UPC. This has worked on other rebates where the rebate house claimed I did not include the UPC (when in fact I did). Always, always scan rebate materials on your scanners before mailing anything away. I have had 100% succeess getting my rebates by always scanning in proof before submitting anything. It's just ludicrous that they want the UPC off the most anticipated DVD set of all time.. therebuy tarnishing the set.
OR.. I find another local dealer selling the set with some identifieable UPC sticker on the box, buy the set again, remove sticker, return DVD set to store sans UPC sticker (not actual UPC). What other stores besides the TWEC stores might put on UPC stickers? (no Fye, etc etc in my area any longer).

I ordered the Star Wars Trilogy tonight. The guy gave me two of the three posters. They showed me my set but of course would not let me have it. Right about then a nutcase came running in to tell them he caught Best Buy and a local place selling them already.
He said he called Lucasfilm and left them a message and they called him right back. They are in big trouble and will get a $20K fine according to the wacko.

BenCJedi - FYE UPC stickers are their own so I would guess Coconuts are as well. In other words, another stores sticker will not work.
Your photocopy of the box thing might work.

That's a good one (re: cutting UPC) getting rejected and sending copy.
Re: GBA SP $30 rebate, I believe that promo is over. It only lasted one week, the same week Pokemon LG/FR came out. Or at least the rebate form that I had (now recycled) said. It was a great deal if you coupled that with the GC, Pokemon $15 rebates with the $30 GBA rebates. Should have netted around $100 for $160+ worth of merchandise.
Anyhow, I'm off to pick up SWT.

What misterchimpy posted also applies to FYE.
My Star Wars pre-order actually came with 3 posters. I haven't unbundled them yet cuz I'm at work but that was a pleasant surprise.
Also, for Mean Girls, there are actually 4 versions:
WS, FS, WS with charm bracelet, and FS with charm bracelet. Most copies were without the charm bracelet but it was pretty obvious which ones had the charm bracelet since you could see the big bulge in the back (this is similar to what they did with School of Rock and the free CD case when that came out).
Another pre-order is:
Seinfeld Season 1&2: $29.99 after MIR with free gift with pre-order
Seinfeld Season 3: $29.99 after MIR with free gift with pre-order
As always, the first post will be updated.

Hey Dabaomb...
i did all you mentioned in the first post and sent away. i also called them and they said it had to be the original UPC and that was that (called before sent). they said it will be rejected first time and then i have to call and try to get somewhere, but it will take a long time. is this the process? would it be easier for me to get another original UPC and send it in after the fact? thanks for help.

I saw your post in the Exchange forum. Personally, I wouldn't trade those posters cuz they're nice and worth $15 by themselves. Also S&H is probably gonna be at least $5. If anything, just buy the UPC from that panhead guy.

I think that's standard practice. According to the preorder banner (IIRC), you get a "poster" implying one poster. The guy at the counter forgot to give me my poster and I left (duh). Fortunately, I stopped by the nearby Home Depot to return stuff and called back to ask. When I got back, he had all three posters for me for the trouble of coming back. Good CS.
I just unrolled them. Pretty nice. Heavy stock. Definitely worth the turnaround trip back. Not quite mint, a couple crinkles on each poster at one corner but that's probably to be expected.

no, i don't send photocopies of the UPC in. I do exactly what I posted in the first thread.
I don't try to lie and cheat the system if that's what you're insinuating. We had the same problem in the Star Wars pre-order thread a few months back and I'm not gonna continue this discussion any further. My honor is worth a lot more than a few measly rebates.
I said that sometimes rebate companies will lose your stuff (that's why I always make copies). A few years back I used to do a lot of Fatwallet.com stuff (I had over 1000 posts there) and a lot of my rebates were Staples rebates which uses Parago as well. This has happened like 2 times to me out of over 100 rebates at Staples.

I got to FYE when they opened so they would not be out of posters but, as usual, they did not even HAVE the posters in yet. It seems like I always end up going out to that place twice to get something that should have been there when I went in the first time.
I'm just sending in the UPC sticker that is on the shrinkwrap and not cutting the box up. Despite what the clerk at the store said, I have always received my rebate using the shrinkwrap UPC.
