Yes,
after Superman leaves the Earth for an extended sabbatical of five years. What I am curious about is, since SUPERMAN I & II take place in the late '70s, does that mean SUPERMAN RETURNS takes place in the '80s???

P.S. If Abrams is going to stick to what's been established in other films, there is no old Kirk. That ribbon thing sucked him up, remember?

Not Star Trek XI related, but I saw this at IMDb and thought it was funny. They're running a daily poll on which Star Trek main character is the studliest. The current results are as follows:
Capt. Jean-Luc Picard 2023 (26.2%)
Capt. James T. Kirk 2017 (26.2%)
Cmdr. William T. Riker 1126 (14.6%)
Mr. Spock 803 (10.4%)
Capt. Jonathan Archer 784 (10.2%)
Capt. Benjamin Lafayette Sisko 614 (8.0%)
First Officer Chakotay 342 (4.4%)
I'm not sure what's worse, than Picard is winning, or that Scott Bacula actually got 10%+ of the votes and still has less votes than Spock. It's a good thing they didn't have to go up against Geordi.![LOL](/images/smilies/lol.gif)
The correct answer is Riker, of course.

I think a great film would be a war between all of Kirk's fatherless half-alien kids and Riker's. They're all bitter and pissed like David, except they're not all pussies. Think of the possibilities!

I can't remember the exact method, but Kirk was brought back in the novels by the Romulans, kinda like one of Dune's ghola's. It was explained well enough that I bought it, so I'm sure it would work for Hollywood.

Nobody is discussing the Ben Affleck rumor?
I was kind of excited about Trek 11 until this . . . I'm actually pretty horrified at this.

Tom Cruise should definitely play a Klingon.
Which brings up an important question. If they do a prequel, will the Klingons have ridged foreheads?

The trick is this:
Is it possible to make a Star Trek movie and get non-Star Trek fans to go see the film? I don't know if it's possible at this point. They would have to get David Fincher or put kung fu in the movie to get people to come....Or what could Star Trek do with an R-Rating, anything interesting? More T and A?
