Re: Wolverine - Solo

That article says that executives wanted it to be kid-friendly and meddled with the production but Donner's set-visits and the ending are reasons for the re-shoots.

I will be there to see it but I'm going with low expectations.

If indeed these reshoots are for purposes that will hurt the movie, the box office might result in Fox really pissing away their Watchmen money fast.

Did they win money from that?

You're forgetting which studio is making this. Fox, more than any other studio, knows how the fuck a film up horribly.

Re: Wolverine - Solo

Well....Daredevil was fucked as whole. No cut of the film is really good. DC cut is better but still crappy. X3...was a cluster fuck. And I didn't know the FF films were fucked over by FOX..I thought they were genuinely crappy films. Max Payne and Die Hard 4, I too assumed were just regular productions that made a crap film.

They already fucked up with Gambit. Gambit looks too human. His eyes are not like the comic book, and he's wearing a pimp suit.

I liked the Fantastic Four movies and to a lesser extent Daredevil, so those were fine by me. People bitch about Live Free or Die Hard because it wasn't R, but honestly the script has enough issues on it's own and seeing McClane take down a fighter jet would have been ridiculously stupid no matter what rating it was. The rush to get X3 out sucked though.

Eh. Aren't his eyes just red in most of the comics? It's not like he looks non-human in the comics. But it's no surprise liberties have been taken considering the other mutants already changed in the X-Men movies. Colossus for instance.

Re: Wolverine - Solo

Supposedly Babylon AD was; Kingdom of Heaven was assuredly messed with.

Not sure if it's reality or just perceived, but the fact that they have given big grossing, or potentially big franchise, projects to lesser known directors makes me think the executives want pushovers. And in relation to that, City of Ember could have generated a franchise but poor box office will probably kill a sequel.

Hugh Jackman Responds to Wolverine Reshoots + A New Photo

News Story

With the negatively received reshooting news that happened this past week, Hugh Jackman responds with an official e-mail sent to AICN:
Hey Mate- Would you mind posting this? Thank you for your support! HJ

Hey everyone -

It’s Hugh Jackman, sending this note from freezing Vancouver. I have read a lot of your online comments regarding the footage that we are currently shooting and I share your passion for the Wolverine character and the movie - I owe it all to you guys!

I wanted to reach out and let you know that due to scheduling conflicts with certain cast members and location/weather considerations, we had to wait until now to shoot a couple of scenes. Please rest assured that WOLVERINE will be badass and hopefully meet all of your expectations. I am stoked by the positive response to the teaser, which clearly reflects the tone and scope of the film. If you like that, we’ve got much more in store!

In the meantime, here’s an exclusive shot of some characters you may recognize…

Cheers,

Hugh

That is pretty awesome of Hugh send such a personal e-mail and not have some huge press report. Makes me want to check out Wolverine a bit more now and look at Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool! Awesome.

Hugh has been crazy awesome from the start. He actually acknowledges that Wolverine kick started his career and hasn't turned his back on the character.

Re: Wolverine - Solo

Yeah...he said before that he loves the Wolverine character for what it is and what it did to him. Stating as well that he won't quit the character until the fans quit the character. I mean, he knows when it's good to bow down. His enthusiasm for the character is very passionate, I love it when actors are that cool with it.

also...does Hugh Jackman keep looking more badass with age? Look at those arms! I hope the film is as good as we want it to be...

Looks like the reshoots were done to.....add more scenes w/ Deadpool to make him a featured character.

Re: Wolverine - Solo

Awesome! The more Deadpool the better!

I'm still hoping there's a shot of him in the film (preferably in the background) where he notices the audience watching the film. But before he says anything someone calls him away. Non-fans would wonder what he was looking at but fans would know he's the only character aware he's in a movie. Much like how in the comics he's the only one aware it's a comic book.

Re: Wolverine - Solo

i know the events are prior to X-Men franchise, but how come some roles couldn't be the same, especially Cox's Stryker? they have tricks to make younger and even not who cares would have been nice to see him reprise considering they seemed to match the same X-Men 2 birth of Wolverine scens.

Re: Wolverine - Solo

Making someone look younger usually works well for a short scene, not an entire movie, as it either involves painful methods (like they used on Bilbo in the opening of Fellowship) or expensive ones (Professor X and Magento in X-Men 3).

For an entire movie it would likely be cost prohibitive, or Cox may not have been willing/available.

Yeah, this came up earlier in the thread. I don't think it matters too much.

See MartinBlank's post, toddly6666. That should give you an idea of the awesomness that is Deadpool.

He's a highly skilled assassin, in fact probably one of the best in the Marvel world. To counter balance that he's psychotic, out of touch with reality (he for the most part knows that he's in a comic), and never ever shuts up. He argues with himself sometimes, verbally, in public. His mind and his mouth are like two different entities at times. He'll think one thing but he'll say something else and trigger an argument with himself. Hell, you could have the most EVIL villain next to him..and he'll unnerve them by the things he says. So essentially you have this awesome killing machine that has reality issues..and he has a healing factor. He can say chimichangas in 8 languages too. And currently...he was so out of cash that he made a whole chair out of plastique to have some furniture in his hom...and he finds it cool that he has a chair that can go BOOM. He in fact argued with himself as to how cool it was or wasn't

OH and unlike say Wolverine, not to say that he can't but he won't, Deadpool will sacrifice his body to get the job done. I mean..he's lost fingers in a fight and he'll stay make jokes and what not..I mean..he really really loves his job. I can't go on anymore...but just watch that video..THAT is Deadpool.

God, I love Deadpool. His film would have to be R...he's just too extreme.
