Re: Wolverine - Solo
I didn't get why Gambit attacked Wolverine. He saw him fighting Sabretooth, who he knew to be a bad guy. Seems like stopping him from killing his enemy was moronic.
Also, if you're planning to con someone don't turn them into an unstoppable killing machine first.

Re: Wolverine - Solo
IF you look at the end credits, it seemed like there was 20 different F/X companies working on this film. While it wasnt the best film, it was a fun distraction for an afternoon.

That's not nearly as bad as Stryker sending out a helicopter and at least two jeeps with mounted guns to kill Wolverine, only to have some random guy come in afterwards and say "Oh, without these adamantium bullets they wouldn't have been able to hurt Wolverine anyway. They never stood a chance." Great writing there, guys.

Just got home. It was decent. The action sequences were too fast-cut and up-close. Really reminded me of Quantum of Solace.
Aside from the red and black costume, I never knew much about Deadpool from the comics. Does he really have all those powers?

He can also teleport. At least I assume he can, I've only read a few of his comics, but he could in Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

I'm surprise people hate this movie so much. I'm sure we all own movies that aren't as good as this was. As someone who watches Heroes I'd love that show if it had half the stuff in this movie. Cool characters, good fight sequences, and a few heart felt moments. What else do you want from comic book movie? Expecting everything to be Spider-Man 2 or The Dark Knight your just setting yourself up to be disappointed.

Apparently, planning has begun on the sequel. Taken from here
Fox and Seed are in development on a sequel to "Wolverine." The Seed partners have begun planning the sequel, which they are squarely focusing on the samurai storyline originated in the comic series, says the trade.

Re: Wolverine - Solo
I'm amazed at how much this movie sucked. Seriously, how hard is it to do a good Wolverine movie. The guy is an invincible killing machine; the movie pretty much writes itself. Having dumb scenes where the hero lights up a cigar and walks away from an exploding vehicle says "TV movie" to me.
Oh, here's a great idea: send a bunch of idiotic dumbshits after him with guns that they know won't hurt him and then marvel at their failure to stop him, then watch helplessly as he only becomes further enraged thus fueling his desire to destroy the Weapon X program. I guess this is part of Hollywood's attack on the military, depicting them as incompetent boobs that obviously never report to anyone or anything (even duty officers/desk jockeys would be noticed if absent for more than a few hours, which is why military conspiracies never work) and just love wasting expensive ordinance and valuable military resources and personnel.
If Stryker thought that the mutants were expendable, like when he essentially sent Agent Zero to his death, why even bother going to all that trouble and presumably, waiting all that time just to use Wolverine as a test subject for adamantium bonding when he could just use any other mutant crash test dummy?
Sabertooth seems like a catch-22. He's obsessed with Wolverine because he's clearly insane, but only a sane person could possibly track him down and enact a plan to destroy him.
This movie had more plot holes than the first three X-men movies combined.

Re: Wolverine - Solo
The comic Deadpool is a witty, cunning evil genius. He moves with lightning precision and won't hesitate to kill anyone who gets in his way - he's crazier than a sack of ferrets. Imagine the wisecracking Spider-man attitude but apply it to a guy with multiple personalities, who can't be killed and will violently murder anyone just for the hell of it - then you've got Deadpool. That videogame villain at the end of the movie might have been cool, but it was not 'improved', nor was it Deadpool.

Re: Wolverine - Solo
There has been a Deadpool comic that has run for that last dozen years or so (it's restarted a few times in there) any of those would be a good example.
Deadpool Classic Vol. 2 is a good place to start, http://www.amazon.com/Deadpool-Class...1630600&sr=8-1
Vol. 1 can be skipped. It has the first issue of Joe Kelly's run, but other than that isn't too essential. Vol. 2 is the start of the good material.

Re: Wolverine - Solo
Well seen this today and wow it was pretty lousy, Felt like everything was just moving through the motions. acting, Action, visual Effects, Directing etc was just blah.
I think X3 was more entertaining then this. There wasnt really one good action scene, the visuals were pretty bad as well. Wolverines Claws looked awful in this movie too, looked very CG and didnt feel attached to him at all. They actually looked better in the first X-men movie. Characters were underused, the climax at the Nuclear factory was pretty lame.
I think the videogame is better then this film, theres some pretty intense and freaking cool action scenes in the videogame.
4/10
