If they're smart, they'll already have a cross-promotion deal in place with Oreo.

I'm not sure, but he does occasionally note on his commentary about how he changed a scene around because the way it played in the script wouldn't work, or says something like "This didn't make sense in the script, so I changed it to this." Apparently he also cut some stuff out together. Like I said, the first and second movies have the screenplays (evidently the shooting scripts) on DVD-ROM, and if you look at them, they're actually significantly different from the final films in many ways. Nolan did pretty heavy rewrites on Batman Begins, and IMO some of the Goyer dialogue is still pretty easy to spot, his lines are a little stilted. Granted, so is some of Nolan's .

One of my favorite comic covers:

Spoiler:

I miss the JLI era. Booster Gold/Blue Beetle bromance. Batman one-punching Guy. Martian Manhunter and his Oreo addiction. Those were the days.

Anyway, I really doubt we get Martian Manhunter in the movie. He will almost certainly be replaced by Cyborg like in the New 52. Didn't they already say Vic Stone/Cyborg has an appearance in Batman vs Superman?

Yes, an actor named Ray Fisher is playing him.

DC completely destroyed pretty much everyone involved in Maguire/Demattias's humourous JL runs before they did the big reset. Beetle, Max Lord, Captain Marvel, Mary Marvel, Sue and Ralph Dibny, Captain Atom, heck even Martian Manhunter died.

That said, even though he was the mainstay of the team prior to the new 52, I can understand if they leave him off the roster of the movie.

Here's the thing no one ever wants to admit about the "classic" JLI era: after the first 2-3 years or so, it went from great to pretty damn terrible.

But those first 2-3 years were spot on...

Well, yeah, typically when people say "classic" JLI they are only talking about the years when Giffen and DeMatteis were on the book. They left shortly before the Death of Superman and the book started going downhill then.

It was pretty much 1990 when it went into the crapper and became the permanent BWAH-HA-HA show. It went from satirical (but still straightforward superheroics) to outright farce. And unfunny farce at that.

^ Yes. It slid downhill while Giffen and DeMatteis were still on the book. It evolved into Gilligan's Island. It only got worse pre-Death of Superman.

Funny. I need to read that run. I wasn't into DC at that time. Just Spidey and X-Men.

Was it the writing that became bad or because of the art? Because I noticed that anytime there was a fill-in artist for Kevin Maguire the story was not enjoyable. Late in Giffen and DeMatteis' run Adam Hughes was penciller, and I think this was in 1990, and the book was still fun. Justice League Europe was also fun when Bart Sears was translating the script to visuals.

@Solid Snake
I Can't Believe It's Not the Justice League and Formerly Known as the Justice League were my introduction to the JLI. I dismissed them when they first came out because I didn't think superhero books could be funny but they turned out to be my favorite incarnation of the Justice League. I recommend them. Ironically, the writing makes the stories seem more the DCU feel more realistic than anything that Geoff Johns or Brad Meltzer were doing at the time.

The final Giffen/DeMatteis storyline, "Breakdowns," wasn't really a comedy, was it? I remember that storyline, which ran for about a year, to be more serious than what preceded it.

I don't really remember Justice League International ever getting bad. Honestly I think it's one of the greatest comic runs and deserves to be up their with Miller's Daredevil, Ennis' Punisher etc.

Yeah. It was their big finale that had everything including the kitchen sink in it. I liked some of Breakdowns but it went on for far too long.

Anything with General Glory was terrible.

Apparently there's now a rumor that Commissioner Gordon will be in this movie as well. Can we stop pretending and take Superman out of the title already?

Batman V: Dawn of Justice? Is it a sequel to Batman and Robin?

We're all disconcerted that it might play that way .

Or movie adaptation of the series V with Batman in the lead role.

Cassandra Cain

Cass was always the best Batgirl anyway. Babs was best as Oracle.

I never really bought the idea she could read body language better than others and was some kind of savant at fighting.

The Batman family of books is real bad in that regard, they've introduced so many unstoppable hand-to-hand combat fighters into the DC universe that it's lost some meaning.

I love Barbara Gordon but she rocked more as Oracle.
