Well it was designed by the same group of people. Supposedly their first design was rejected because it was too similar to the Tumbler.

What's wrong with flying to China and back in one day? Bruce wasn't going on a vacation to sightsee. He was going to get that gangster dude and then immediately leave.

IIRC, his alibi was hijacking the Russian ballet and whisking them away to a chartered yacht, where he was picked up by the S. Korean smugglers to get Lau in Hong Kong. I would think he was there a minimum of 3 - 4 days.

I believe the original complaint is referring to how Bruce got back to Gotham from the prison in The Dark Knight Rises. Not his trip to Hong Kong in The Dark Knight.

He didn't hijack them. That would imply they were taken against their will, which I seriously doubt was the case.

When Bruce climbed out of the pit, he walked to a town and called someone to come pick him up.

The timeline in TDKR was so fucked up Bruce could have floated back to Gotham in a hot air balloon for all we know.

But it was a dark and gritty hot air balloon.

I get sick of people who make complaints like this about the Nolan trilogy. It wasn't like it was all dark and gritty just for the sake of being that way. That more or less is in line with Batman's character and worked within the stories being told. I get that people don't like the fact that the dark aspect of the trilogy has carried over to other comic films where that tone doesn't necessarily fit as well but for Batman it works and really I didn't think the entire trilogy was really that bleak. The darkest entry really is The Dark Knight.

Gee, I'm making a hot air balloon joke. I greatly enjoyed those movies.

Man, the leaked nudes stop and everybody gets grumpy around here.

Well, that is a common complaint of people who hate on the Nolan films is that they're too dark and gritty for their own good. Sorry if I misunderstood your post.

The hot air balloon is what the Joker and his men used to get away during the hostage taking in the hotel. Batman jumped out and saved Rachel and then it cuts to the next day. What really happened is Batman landed on the cab, the Joker and his men got in the hot air balloon and drifted to their hideout where they kept all those thousands of barrels of gasoline. After they left Alfred let the unconscious Harvey Dent out of the closet and told him to watch the drinking. The Joker then used the hot air balloon to hover above the hospital and quietly dropped gasoline filled barrels on the roof and then put them on a dolly and carried them downstairs. Just like he did on the ferry boats.

Nolan would probably be as inept at doing that as he is at making films.

I am just glad that this film has nothing to do with his version of Batman.

Yeah, I'm liking the new Batmobile.

But I still want a Tumbler of my very own.

That looks a lot better. Looks like a mix of the Burton Batmobile and The Tumbler.

It does, but I think the "finished product" has a bit too much tumbler (unfinished look), and too little Burton.

I love it, definitely a sleeker/less bulky tumbler. Agree with above. Nice combo of Burton/Tumbler.

No. He had the Bat pick him up. DUH. The tarp is from India. Clearly he had it come to him somehow and then he dropped in to Gotham and covered it with a tarp from India.

Fuck. Who was the guy in the TDKR thread who was adamant that that was how Wayne got to Gotham in TDKR?
