How would Batman summon the BAT? Did Bane leave his wallet and keys in a bowl in the prison for him?

And if Bruce could summon the Bat, then why did he have to practice climbing the wall to escape? Just have the Bat fly down the pit and pick him up. Or if the Bat was too big to fit, just have it drop a rope or something.

as has been the response to every plot hole or abandoned/ignored plot point in TDK that is brought up- why do people care about these things in relation to TDKR? After all it's just a comic book movie.

But TDK, for some reason, rides the special school bus and as such can not be criticized for narrative laxity.
As much enthusiasm as there is for this film here, I don't expect Synders film to be cut as much slack...and I do expect a whole mess of illogical lapses and poor narrative fit and finish on this.

Long story short and generalizing, but people don't agree with your complaints about TDK and feel TDKR is worse in those regards.

Thing is though Paul_SD is exactly right on that though. I don't always agree with what he posts but the level of hate that gets directed towards The Dark Knight Rises by people who loved The Dark Knight and to a lesser extent Batman Begins is absolutely stupid. I love the entire trilogy but they all have flaws. People just had the highest of expectations for The Dark Knight Rises after they thought The Dark Knight is one of the best modern super hero films (and it is good but overrated) that anything that was less than perfect caused people to get their panties all in bunches. Most of the complaining is nitpicky shit too which makes it more irritating.

So whether you think they're equal, or no matter how much Paul_SD wants to mention flaws in Dark Knight, it is what it is and I don't know why folks can't accept that your own opinion is the oddity instead of blaming every one else for being wrong, or nitpicking, or whatever. You're not changing anyone's minds

I just think its stupid when people blow the flaws of The Dark Knight Rises out of proportion but look at the other films through rose colored glasses. I don't really think my argument is flawed but is more or less true. People had something built up in their minds for what the film should have been and if every last thing didn't perfectly meet what they had in mind it failed to them. I predicted that would happen before the film even released and I wasn't far off.

I do agree with you as far as those acting like Rises is a piece of shit or whatever.

That's my main point. I can understand if people like it the least out of the trilogy, but to make it seem like its so terrible and the other films are leagues better than it is just silly in my opinion.

Rises gets less rope because there is very little actual Batman in it and Nolan did everything possible to avoid comic booky elements, like calling her Catwoman. It's a bloated summer blockbuster and Bane is too short with a goofy voice.

Yeah, complaining about Bane's height like it's a legitimate flaw of the movie is why people don't take comic book fans on the internet seriously.

Not calling her Catwoman was a pretty small complaint from most I think. It wasn't really necessary and you got the gist of who she was supposed to be. As for the lack of Batman, I guess I felt like he was in it the right amount and we still had plenty of Bruce Wayne so it was fine to me. Bane's voice was a bit jarring at first but I got used to it.

True. You'll have certain folks that trash Rises while giving something like Green Lantern or Amazing Spiderman 2 a pass. Sorry, not in this life.

I didn't hate The Amazing Spider-Man 2 but I can see why people don't like it. Green Lantern on the other hand is a steaming pile of shit and everyone involved with it should be ashamed of it.

Comic nerds are the worst critics of comic movies. It becomes especially hilariously ironic when the nerds don't even know their own comic trivia, like the aforementioned Catwoman originally being called "The Cat" in the comics.

Let's put another spin on this nerd debate. Ever wonder how much it must cost to be Batman? Here's an estimate:

The better question is, why has no one ever made that connection, since Bruce is apparently the only person in Gotham who's remotely wealthy enough to afford those "wonderful toys."
