I didn't like Daredevil at all -- the director's cut was actually WORSE imo -- but next to Green Lantern it's practically The Dark Knight.

My mistake for generalizing.

Would it be fair to say then that everyone upset over this casting either dislike Affleck in general, or only see/want Bale as Batman now?

How is that?

I guess one would assume Bryan Cranston has more of an incentive to be Luthor now and reteam with Affleck?

Adkins and Affleck look quite a bit similar; I won't be shocked if Adkins is the guy in the suit for anything physical.

I believe that is what Solid Snake was getting at.

Although I enjoyed Green Lantern, it pales in comparison to Daredevil (either cut) buy the simple fact that the GL film seemed afraid (or perhaps even embarrassed) about the concept of the Green Lantern Corps. Check out Green Lantern: First Flight. Although deeply flawed due to a heavily compressed runtime, it holds truer to the source material by essentially remaking Training Day in outer space.

I can't seen Affleck having a 5' oclock shadow though as Batman. He looks a lot different shaven more like in his Kevin Smith movies which worries me.

Yeah, Adkins as Affleck's fight double would be badass and nigh seamless given their physical similarities. Now the reports of Scott Adkins trying out for the role make sense.

That picture is clearly a comparison on his weight, especially in his face. One looks like when he was lean and built for The Town. The other looks like it was from years ago.

Since Hans Zimmer will score this one, do you suppose he'll write completely new themes for Batman and his related characters/locations?

latest Batrumor: that Affleck was pushing for ex-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow to play Catwoman to his Caped Crusader.

"... Gwyneth is much more the Electra type," Affleck wrote, slipping in a reference to yet another comic-book title ("The Daredevil").
Ha. Ben to Batman, Gwyneth to Iron Man and Jennifer as Electra.

What has Kevin Smith said so far about this news? He must be doing cartwheels, this will give him new material on his speaking tours for another decade.

Agreed. I was very hesitant about him when "The First Avenger" was being made, but he knocked it out of the park. "The Avengers" was awesome, and I'm so anxious for "The Winter Soldier" release next year.

It was an incredible film; I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Henry Cavill's the best live-action Superman so far, including Christopher Reeve.

The movie practically beat the audience with a Bible with it's obvious Christian allegory. Of course moviefan2k4 was enthralled by it.

Agreed. There was a better film in there. It just needed a better director to make it a reality. I wish Affleck would replace Snyder as director for the sequel. Or perhaps Duncan Jones would realize that perhaps he indeed can direct a Superman movie.

Like it or not, Siegel and Shuster created Superman as a direct reference to both Moses and Jesus. Snyder & Co. were simply adhering to that original vision, and I was very pleased with the result.

I don't mind their being Christian allegory but the movie was insultingly unsubtle about it. It was like "subtext for those too stupid to handle actual subtext".

And, as Jews, Siegel and Shuster would have been referencing Moses, not Jesus.
