What I don't understand is why they are labeling this as a MOS sequel instead of just letting it be it's own thing. Just call it World's Finest, or Trinity if they are planning to use Wonder Woman in it. Or better yet, make both World's Finest and Trinity and shoot them back to back so we can have two awesome summers in a row.

The truth is that Warner doesn't trust the Superman brand enough to generate the necessary juice for a sequel. That is why we are getting Batman and who knows what else in what is purportedly a MOS sequel. They need this movie to clear $1 billion in box office or it will be considered a failure.

That could easily be Kara Zor-El (a.k.a. Supergirl). They did say the empty lifepod seen in Man of Steel would play into the sequel and I believe they acknowledged that ship she was seen in at the end of the prequel comic was the same one Clark found in the movie. So it seems that not only might Superman and Batman be at odds, they'll also be borrowing elements of this storyline:



Probably Superman comes to Gotham seeking another Kryptonian and ends up running afoul of Batman.

I think the Supergirl idea is more valid than Wonder Woman. Hell, if she is in it they might as well add the Flash and Green Lantern and call it Justice League at that point.
