I'd love to see the gray return. I'm kinda over the black leather look as well.

No, I was just tossing that out there. The ultimate point is there are probably two dozen ways to approach a JL movie, not just the Marvel way. That's all I've been trying to get across.

I thought the rumor was that the Batsuit was going to be based on the look from the graphic novel Noel. Not sure how I feel about the influence of The Dark Knight Returns on this film if those rumors have any truth to them.

I don't mind it. It's a decent mix of the classic suit but with some modifications and a bit more modernized. To be truthful the Arkham games look would be good minus the overly large arm gauntlets and shin guards.

I'd take Smith's opinion with a big grain of salt. His bud Affleck is playing Batman, so anything they do is going to have Kev cumming in his fleshlight.

So I'm getting a grey spandex vibe from this and I think that's going to look absolutely horrible.

I somehow don't think that's what it'll be. I'm imagining a classic look but somehow armored.

I'm guessing grey and navy blue but likely still armored but not tactical looking. Likely a cross between the Noel and TDKR(eturns) costumes.

I don't like the neck piece in the Noel art is the most glaring.

Yeah I kind of don't like the way the Bat emblem is so large and looks like it's part of the cape and cowl as one big piece. I think if that was changed it would look good though.

I've seen people referencing this one...it looks kinda old fashioned (like the Rocketeer) but it could work.

Hearing rumblings from the comic sites that it might be the 'Jim Lee' Suit. Everyone over there seems to be pretty excited about it, I on the other hand does not know what that means.

I think it means it'll look like every other male character Jim Lee ever drew. Except with a bat symbol on the chest.

Kevin Smith needs to shut the fuck up. After making several sellout failures he's turned into a studio cum guzzler. How can anyone take his bullshit opinions seriously after his Star Wars Episode 3 review?

http://viewaskew.com/news/sith/

this flick is so satisfyingly tragic, you'll think you're watching "Othello" or "Hamlet".

I hope it's the grey-blue color scheme but I hope it's not Party City-esque like the Captain America costume from The Avengers. It should be colorful but rugged.

I hope it's not that steampunk looking version posted above. The Jim Lee suit would be ok, as long as it doesn't have stubby ears.

Yeah if they go with blue and grey the blue should be a deep blue. I wonder if they'll go with the Bat logo only or if it'll be the yellow oval with the Bat logo on it. The belt I'm fine with either the capsule style or the the pouches.

I like the yellow belt as long as it's not too bright (that bronze colored one from the Nolan flicks looked great) but I'd prefer no yellow oval. I know comic writers found a way to explain it away but it still looked stupid. Besides, Batman is a fucking ninja. He shouldn't have any targets on his body (under any circumstances). That's what Robin is for.

I would say that's almost certainly what it will be.

The DC animated movies are entering the New 52 territory as well with The Flashpoint Paradox and Justice League: War.

Jim Lee did the costume redesigns for the New 52 as shown in the pic below:

I really don't want Cyborg in the JLA movies. It needs to be the core team of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter. Martian Manhunter could be a breakout character if they get a product placement from Oreos and play him as a stranger in a strange land, fish out of water.

If they think they need a black guy on the team, then just make Hal Jordan black. The name "Hal Jordan" sounds black, anyway.

Meh. I take what Kevin Smith says with a grain of salt. He also talked about how amazing the Daredevil costume looked when that came out. He's very prone to exaggeration.

I love Martian Manhunter too, but I would bet dollars to donuts the movie will be based on the New 52 especially since the animated series are going that way now too.

Or just use John Stewart instead of Hal Jordan.

I really dislike Cyborg in the Justice League but ironically, I hate how underused he is.

They made such a big deal when they started pushing him into the spotlight during Flashpoint and then after he was added to the Justice League. Overall, he just hasn't been used well.

There was a documentary on one of the recent Blu-Rays (Justice Leagueoom, I think) where DiDio, Jones and everyone says "It's his time." Well, great. Do something with him then! He doesn't even have a book he can call his own. Pandora has her own freakin' book but the guy they say is good enough to be on a team with Batman & Superman is still stuck in the background.
