I don't really pay attention to a woman's bellybutton but Patton's is pretty good looking.

Yup
The Gina Carano vocal mystery is OFFICIALLY OVER -- because the rib-cracking MMA fighter has finally admitted that her voice WAS altered for her role in the movie "Haywire."
Carano appeared on a podcast for the "No Holds Barred" MMA blog yesterday ... when she explained why director Steven Soderbergh felt he needed to do some "altering and mixing" to her voice.
Long story short -- Carano says Soderbergh wanted people to believe that Gina and her character are "two completely different entities" ... and felt the vocal change would help.
Carano added, "I'm just honored to be a part of it ... there was a little joke that I was saying that even if [Soderbergh] would have shaved my head and put Bill Clinton as my voice, I would have still done it."

I do wonder though what it was like before the change though. Soderbergh may say that cuz he's a pro but maybe her voice wasn't cutting it? Either way. Good flick, reminded me of a 70s flick.

Nope.
That's just some PR bullshit to cover up the fact that Laura San Giacomo dubbed over her voice. Just listen to Carano's voice and speaking style in interviews and compare it to the movie. Heck, look at her lips. It goes so beyond being "altered", that anyone who believes that is an idiot.

Post work can be an amazing thing. It isn't hard to believe that they altered her voice. If she did have someone dub in on her, well that's another thing. I haven't seen it mentioned though.

So he basically manipulates them telepathically instead of getting their consent.
I'm trying to think of a superhero movie that didn't involve an origin for both heroes and villains at least somewhere in the films.

X-Men didn't really have an origin story (except for the abbreviated Magneto WWII opening) until First Class came along.

Wait, how does Aquaman NOT have Gills? I thought the whole deal was he had both Gills and Lungs?

Maybe it was Post-Crisis. Or I could have imagined the whole thing.

Didn't some site claim that the whales in MOS were like an Aquaman cameo? Please.
The reason he's not taken as seriously as Namor, despite the latter's costume consisting of scales on a speedo and Vulcan ears? Because Namor had a personality from the start. Aquaman has had some runs where some writers (notably Peter David) have tried to inject personality into him, or made him this brooding Namor-like grump, but it never sticks. Plus, at best he's a specialist... 75% of the world may be made out of water, but 90% of the action in comic books happens on land, or in space, or nowhere near water, so he's like Seaspray or Wetsuit, really really useful in his environment and eh, we'll call you, don't call us when he's not.
That's a lot of words about Aquaman. In any case, it'll be interesting to see how Guardians of the Galaxy does, a film which is basically introducing not only a bunch of new characters but new species and a ton of other crap, and hopefully wont go too much into origins and just run with the zaniness.

No comparing GotG to this dour project. There's no "fun" in the buzz. Just, "we gotta do this" and we gotta introduce her, him, etc.". Lotta weight on DC's shoulders.

No, and I'm telling you that was PR bullshit. Just read her response again, she doesn't actually say that they kept her voice. Trust me on this, I know people who did post-production on it.

Nerds love creating Cameos where there are none. I remember Marvel Fanboys saying the thunder and lightning in the Hulk reboot was Thor flying over the cave he was in.

Also, he may do better in water, but its not like he's useless on land. He has superhuman strength, endurance, reflexes, etc. He is more practical and more logical in a fight against supervillains like Darkseid, than someone like Batman who has no superhuman powers at all.

That was pretty much the thing that separated the two in quality. Namor has a personality that you don't forget. Such a prick who always wants to fuck Sue Storm. They guy would turn on humanity if he needed to. Always loved how he was presented in Marvels. That was the first time that I saw that era told in such a way. Love that issue so much. Still wish we could have had an Invaders film.
