Taffer, you're late to the game of saying when Bats got dark again.
I love that era of Batman, o'neil and Adams. Great team. International nonsense and great suspense drama, a bit aged now but still good.
I think she also confirmed it in the same conversation with Namor. Though his major hard on for Sue Storm has yet to happen, at least in the proper 616. That man is so close to just raping Storm. Hasn't stopped her from having those moments of making out with the bad boy that Namor is though.

Yeah but taffer added that extra layer of comic book nerdiness to the discussion at hand. ![Big Grin](/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

I barely liked the NW back when I was a little kid in like '91. In fact, I only enjoyed them when they were with someone cooler like Spidey. Never got the appeal of the team.

They were young like us! Plus their leader used a skateboard! Skateboarding is second only to electrical powers among black superheroes.

I liked New Warriors just for the Mark Bagley art. His art on Amazing Spider-Man and New Warriors in the 80s and 90s was awesome. I'm in the minority on this, but I feel his later art on Ultimate Spider-Man was nowhere near as good.

Oh it really differs in quality. Detail was lost for USM. Like his ASM art was a lot more detailed than his USM stuff. It was simpler.
Personally though, I LOVED JRJr's run on ASM, even like his PP:SM issues..though...the stories weren't hot for that one. He really knew how to emphasize storytelling, even without the words of the writer. Them Romitas were awesome on Spidey. Never liked Jr's run on DD though. He hadn't honed it in just yet. But maybe that's cuz it was the 80s for comics...a lot of bad shit was going on for some characters.

Wasting no time, it seems that Zack Snyder's BATMAN VS SUPERMAN film is set to begin shooting this weekend, filming a football game between "Gotham City University and rival Metropolis State University" during the halftime of the game between ELAC and Victor Valley College at East Los Angeles College on October 19th. No word on whether or not the principle stars Ben Affleck or Henry Cavill will be there, but if you're in the L.A. area or happen to be an ELAC student, this could be your opportunity to "get in the game."
Details below:
Warner Bros. Pictures announced through a press release that Snyder and producers of the film are looking for people in the Los Angeles area, preferably ELAC students, to be extras for the upcoming film.
The stadium will be made into the backdrop for a football game between Gotham City University and rival Metropolis State University.
The first 2,000 people who sit in the filming area of the stadium will receive T-shirts designed by Snyder for those participating in the filming and prizes will be raffled throughout the night.
The crowd will sport Gotham Citys colors, black and gold.
The film will shoot three takes of three plays during halftime. The crew will be capturing the actors and crowd’s reactions.
ELAC’s College event and Venue Coordinator, Ernest Burnett, said that the filming will be about 20 minutes during halftime. The second half of ELAC’s game will follow the film shoot.

Wait, is Metropolis a state now? That seems like an odd name for the team.

As much destruction and death that was caused in MOS can you imagine the sickening news and sports stories you would have to read and hear about the Metropolis team overcoming adversity and how they were playing for the city and people?

Apparently they're filming a football game in East L.A. for this and they passed out tickets for it tonight. Latino Review was reporting this and asking folks for pics and/or video for it.

There’s been plenty of buzz that Zack Snyder’s upcoming “Batman vs. Superman” film will feature an appearance by Wonder Woman, and Greg Silverman, Warner Bros.’ president of creative development and worldwide production, addressed the rumor Monday at the Variety Entertainment & Tech Summit.
When asked by Variety‘s Claudia Eller whether the film would introduce other DC Comics superheroes, such as Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and the Flash, to reunite part of the Justice League, Silverman took the idea of Wonder Woman and ran with it.
“We have been doing a lot of thinking for years about how to best use all those characters and we love them,” Silverman said. “Wonder Woman is an amazing character. I think it’s a great opportunity both for box office success, but also to have an amazingly powerful female superhero.”
“Is she going to have her own separate movie or is she going to be a part of this?” Eller asked.
“We are taking it all very seriously and are trying to do a plan that’s respectful to those characters and maximizes the stories as best they can,” Silverman said, dodging the question. “So everything that has been speculated are things that we’ve thought about.”
Silverman also addressed the studio’s controversial casting of Ben Affleck as Batman — fans even signed a petition urging Warner Bros. to remove Affleck from the film — standing by Warner’s choice of the Oscar winner for the role.
“We knew going in that we had more information than the general public had,” he said. “We knew what the take of the movie was, we knew what the character was going to be. We don’t take these decisions lightly. We thought about everybody — brand new people, established people. Ben is the perfect guy to play this role.”
And although he didn’t give any details away about how Affleck’s character will interact with Henry Cavill’s Superman (“they both will be wearing suits, there are capes involved, there will be action, there will be excitement”), he did stress that Snyder and screenwriter David Goyer’s story will do both characters justice.
“They’ve crafted a great story,” he said. “I mean, this is where it all comes from for us. It’s just a great story that involves these amazing characters.”
He also discussed the studio’s latest project with J.K. Rowling — the adaptation of her Hogwarts textbook, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” into a film about that book’s fictitious author, Newt Scamander.
“We have decided as a company that we are going to support J.K. Rowling in her artistic endeavors,” he said. “She’s been a huge part of our success, and (our CEO Kevin Tsujihara) and her really have a great relationship.”
And unlike other writers who work with the studio, Silverman said that Rowling has no script deadline.
“Every writer at Warner Bros. has a deadline, unless you’ve been involved in a multibillion-dollar franchise,” he said.

Details on Batmobile and Batsuit:

One edict - it will "definitely NOT have a military look like The Tumbler from Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy". More likely it'll be some kind of streamlined concept car. Production designer Nathan Crowley, and engineers Chris Culvert and Andy Smith have reportedly been consulting on the designs - not surprising as they were apparently involved in the creation of the Tumbler nearly a decade ago.
As of four weeks ago, the car was still just 'pictures on the wall' so nothing had actually been built yet. It's also said an "old Cadillac" will feature prominently in the film.
As for Ben Affleck's Batman costume? Comic Book Movie reports that the character's look is rumored to resemble that seen in the 2011 graphic novel "Batman: Noel" (pictured below). Other concepts were said to be explored, including a "Injustice: Gods Among Us"-style look, but many were rejected for being too similar to the Nolan-verse look.
