Idris Elba is great, but I don't know if it would work to have a Lex Luthor that looks like he could easily kick Superman's ass.

I know I'll catch shit for saying this probably but I still hate when characters get unnecessary race/gender changes in movies for no apparent reason. I mean if that article is true it sounds like they're essentially doing it just to create diversity among the cast but even so there's other villains or heroes of different nationalities that could be used. Also even though I know he'll be used at some point I really don't care to see Lex Luthor at this point.

I'd still like to see Cranston play one of three roles: Lex Luthor, Hugo Strange, or Commissioner Gordon. Hugo is probably the least likely of those three to be used but after Breaking Bad Cranston has proven he can play the bad guy role really well and I think either Hugo or Luthor would fit him well. Gordon could be a good fit though too as he already voiced him in Batman Year One plus I think he has the right look.

I don't know if it was true or not but wasn't there supposedly talk at some point about him playing Vulture in the fourth Raimi Spider-Man film (before it was cancelled obviously)? I don't know if I could see him as a villain.

I'd dig Elba as Lex. He could really bring out awesomeness out of a weak script from what I've seen. He has a lot presence inherently. Great voice, movement, and look. Not sure how he looks bald though.
Iconically Lex doesn't have a look that has to have him as a cracker. Just bald and confident, that's his visual. I'd be fine with a black Lex.

Jason Momoa is in negotiations to join the cast of the untitled Batman-Superman movie being made by Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.
Zack Snyder is directing the Man of Steel follow-up, which is quickly turning into a who’s who of DC superheroes as Momoa joins Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Israeli supermodel and relative newcomer Gal Godot as Wonder Woman.
It's unclear whom Momoa will play due to the Kryptonite lock on the project’s details. There's been speculation that the movie's villain could be Doomsday, a Kryptonian scientifically engineered into an intergalactic killing machine. Doomsday famously “killed” Superman in the comics, which became a media event in 1992. The character's existence is even hinted in the extras of the Man of Steel Blu-ray.
However, a source speculated that if Warners is populating the movie with members of the Justice League, Momoa could also play the Martian Manhunter, a super-powered alien trapped on Earth. Momoa, with his muscular physique, could be a fit for either character.
Momoa played the barbarian leader Khal Drogo in the first season of HBO’s Game of Thrones, as well as Conan in 2011’s Conan the Barbarian. He’s got several indies in the works, including Wolves, a werewolf action movie written and directed by David Hayter.

Wasn't he basically cast as Drax before he dropped out due to wanting more money than Marvel wanted to pay him? Would be funny if he dropped out of playing a green skinned alien in Guardians to play a green skinned alien in this.
