$1 billion worldwide? Shit, that's an underestimate.

Most are already estimating it to beat AOU in both domestic and international grosses. $1.4-1.5 billion is where it'll end up.

Maybe. But... Cap 2 did a shit ton well by itself too.

Cap 2's bank

Domestic: $259,766,572 36.4%
+ Foreign: $454,654,931 63.6%
= Worldwide: $714,421,503

Considering this has almost all the Avengers AND Spider-Man... AND (the new hero) Black Panther? It's got to at least hit what it made in the previous entry. I can see it making a billion easily just cuz of what is in it AND how good the previous film was.

------

Hell of a jump that Cap 2 made from Cap 1's BO.

Domestic: $176,654,505 47.7%
+ Foreign: $193,915,269 52.3%
= Worldwide: $370,569,774

Damn near double.

The Russo Bros are directly responsible for that. They took it to the next level on the action, and it showed. That's why I saw it twice in theaters last time around.

Yeah. For sure. They fucking brought the best action the MCU ever had. I'm excited as hell to see wtf they did w/ this one.

Fuck. They were the first ones to get Cap's abilities right.

I skipped Cap 2 in theaters b/c i thought Cap 1 was so meh. Fcking regretted that after seeing it at home.

saw it (cap2) again last night for like the 7th or 8th time and it's still awesome.
-Raid on the ship
-Attack on Fury ("air conditioning fully operational" )
-Cap Elevator escape
-Highway battle
-Taking down the heli carriers

And the opening "on your left" scene is one of my favorites of the MCU. Small, quiet, funny scene to open an epic movie.

Thankfully, CA doesn't have a Melissa McCarthy movie coming up

Fucking nice body too. Seriously... seeing her nude in Lee's Oldboy was the only real highlight of the film.

That video exactly encapsulates why Marvel movies do better than DC. Its clear that the cast get along really well and have a blast making these things (whilst taking home huge bank). Its basically the same as anyone who just so happens to have their dream job, it also involves hanging out with and making new friends and as a bonus you get paid incredibly well for it. Picking the right people for the job really pays off (and probably why Ed Norton who seems to be notorious as a hard ass was not brought back) and not just simply because they might look right for the part.

And Olsen is super hot.

Ed Norton would fit well in the current DC universe of movies.

You don't have to show you're having a good time or even like each other to make a quality product.

Just have quality people making quality stuff. WB unfortunately... doesn't have a bit of both of those things. Specifically those not on the screen.

Anyone know if the theaters are going to have special 3d glasses for this one? I know there have been ones for many recent Marvel films, but can't find anything confirming this one.

Martha Marcy May Marlene.

That movie pretty much introduced her to the world beyond her sisters' twins movies from the 1990s. MMMM is a damn good movie too.

She's the best looking and the most talented of the siblings.

True, but when a cast gets along as well as the ones that Marvel brings into their movies it certainly does not hurt. Even when they are not making movies together they seem to keep communication via social media and a lot of it seems to be fun stuff that many times help the public (visiting hospitals in costume etc).

Marvel makes superb decisions on its casting and directors. I don't think there has been a single choice they have made that i have not felt was inspired and certainly the right person for the job. The closest i guess was Scarlett taking the role of Black Widow from Emily Blunt, but even that seems to have worked out nicely. Get Blunt playing Captain Marvel and it will be work out very nicely indeed.

WB i think has cast some roles nicely (I personally like Cavil as Superman and Affleck as Batman), but i think they have tried to go too left field with some roles (obviously Eisenberg as Luthor, and i am not sold on Momoa as Aquaman. He has the looks down, but i don't find his acting ability to be all that great). They need to really improve their quality of writers and directors though. A film can only ever be as good as its script yet a great director can help a mediocre script turn into a good movie. Great script, great director and a solid cast should up the chances of a runaway success. The problem is that WB feels the need to rush things instead of correcting an issue when one exists. If a script needs another six months then give it that time, and dont lock down contracts until a solid script is in place.

Re: Captain America: Civil War (2016) (D: The Russo Bros) - News, Rumors, Cast

Christopher Markus (one of the two writers) on how T'Challa's role worked out:

Originally, T'Challa and T'Chaka were just the representatives of Wakanda, sort of the voice of other countries in the world going, ‘You people are out of control,’ and then to be aggrieved by possible Bucky actions. Frankly, just not have him be Black Panther yet. He's getting his own movie, you know. He's the prince of a country! That's pretty good for a movie. Maybe we get to play with Spider-Man and all that. When things maybe looked like we weren’t going to get Spider-Man, it was like, ‘Let's put the costume on that guy!’ And then he became so integral to the story as it evolved that once Spider-Man came back, we didn't take him out. So, it was a problem that created a really nice situation.
