I can tell. Is this you and management "discussing" the issue?

Re: The Hateful Eight (Tarantino, 2015) — The Reviews Thread

Just got home from the show. Went with a buddy and fucking forgot to get the programs. I'm assuming they ran out, because there was no one that was handing them out, so. It doesn't matter, I already have one.

Upon my second full 70mm - this is still a masterpiece and up there in QT's Top-5 films.

Now stand still while I practice my stabbing!!!

Did some research, and what they did is move H8-70mm into a normal theater, still charging the full $18, and then move a Star Wars showing from the normal theater that was at normal price into the Imax theater, charging the Imax price for that. Greedy fuckers!

Email the theater. I did it one time over a concession price issue. Manager said I was correct and gave me a choice of either free popcorn or free movie pass. I chose the pass and she sent me both

That's a lot of work, and my time is worth more than a movie pass.

No, what I actually want, they can no longer give, which is to see the 70mm on a bigger screen and to get a program.

I think it is pbetter than Django but that's probably it. I loved the 70mm but found this movie just completely uninspired and thought the final chapter was truly terrible. In some ways his most minor work. Not a big fan of Jackie Brown either though I would watch if again. I would never sit through this sgain.

Seems like a broad and strange generalization to make. I didn't like Hateful Eight, and have obviously seen and enjoyed numerous films from before 1975.

Re: The Hateful Eight (Tarantino, 2015) — The Reviews Thread

This is better than my least favorite Tarantino films, DEATH PROOF and KILL BILL VOL. 2, but it’s quite a disappointment compared to all his others. Way too long. The big confrontation finale should have been moved up and
Spoiler:
Kurt Russell should have been in it longer and Channing Tatum should have been in it sooner and played more of a role in the action. Dern’s character should have offered clues to Russell and Jackson that something was fishy there. Too many loose ends were tidied up simply by shooting people when they could be easily shot.
No real suspense there. Whole scenes could have been cut, e.g. the flashback involving General Smithers’ son. I went to the bathroom twice (but not during the Intermission). I nodded off twice (one of those times being the intermission). Had it been really compelling, I would have held the pee in till the intermission and I wouldn’t have fallen asleep. And I saw a morning screening.

I wonder how different the final script was from the one that got leaked two or three years ago. Was that a better script?

the draft script was barely changed at all from the filmed script
I'd much rather see QT's version of H8 than Ash Ketchum's ..... sorry

Not to go off topic but if you had to pee twice during a 3-hr movie, there might be something wrong. I am assuming you did the standard practice of peeing before the movie. I don't think I have ever had to have a bathroom break during a movie at the theater.

...sounds like you have the Old Fuck diseases. Seriously... I drink soooo much water but I still make sure I piss it all out before the movie. Out of hundreds of movies I've seen in a theater... I've probably had to leave the theater for a piss maybe 3 times.

You really got some bladder issues here. We've discussed this. Are you sure your body is doing ok?

Have you seen the 88 oz drinks the theaters sell? And it's free refills. Give him a break.

I liked the obvious throwback to Mr. Orange when Roth's character is on the floor crying and bleeding.

Honestly, if you are one of those people who just leaves to go to the bathroom in the middle of the fucking movie and then has the gall to criticize said movie, in any way, piss off.

Re: The Hateful Eight (Tarantino, 2015) — The Reviews Thread — SPOILERS

That's rather harsh to say.

Seriously, the amount of hate towards anyone who has a difference of opinion on this movie is just comical. Would you rather he just pissed his fucking pants in the theater?

So he missed roughly 5 minutes of this film. Do you also tell folks that if they criticize this film without watching the 70mm to fuck off as well?

Ugh, Criticizing this film without having watched every pre-1975 film or not going to film school? Brah, fuck off!
