yeah by the sound of it, seems like The Joker and others see Wayne as simply a clown. No different than this guy

hence the protests with clown faces

Agreed. Not feeling Thomas Wayne being involved in Joker’s origin. Feels like it’s a forced way to tie Batman and Joker together more.

So now not only is the Joker back into Batman's origin but maybe the death of the Waynes was a hit?

Is this version of the Joker just going to be a guy in traditional clown make-up?

I’m hoping the more traditional clown look is just one look he’ll have. I do think he looks cool as is but I would prefer a more traditional Joker look.

I assume he will have the makeup seen in The Guess Who screen test that was posted a few pages back.

Everything I’ve seen makes him look pathetic. I assume this is going to be the story of a disgruntled and marginalized guy who turns into Joker.

'Joker': Dante Pereira-Olson Cast as Young Bruce Wayne

The cast of Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix's solo Joker movie continues to add popular DC characters to the fold, and it looks like Bruce Wayne is next on the list.

ComicBook.com can confirm that young actor Dante Pereira-Olson has been cast in Joker as Bruce Wayne, the boy who will eventually grow up to be Batman. This casting comes on the heels of Douglas Hodge landing the role of Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce's butler and eventual guardian. The casting will reunite Pereira-Olson and Phoenix, who recently starred together in the critically-acclaimed thriller You Were Never Really Here.

I have a sneaky suspicion The Batman might be connected with this Joker movie...

Could be kinda cool if this tied in with Matt Reeves’ Batman film. I still would prefer this to not tie in with the Wayne’s personally.

So the Joker is going to be in his 60s by the time Batman shows up?

Re: Joker (2019, D: Todd Phillips) -- S: Joaquin Phoenix

I’ve always pictured Joker as slightly older than Batman but not by that much. I’d think maybe ten or so years older. It does seem weird he’d be that old by the time he and Batman meet up, but that’s assuming we’re supposed to think that Phoenix’s Joker is playing him at his age. We probably won’t know his actual age anyways.

Re: Joker (2019, D: Todd Phillips) -- S: Joaquin Phoenix

Ugh heard a rumor about this movie that if true absolutely sinks my excitement for this film. There’s some talk that it’s going to be revealed that Phoenix’s Joker is the son of Thomas Wayne and that basically his motivation for taking over Gotham and targeting the Wayne’s is because he and his mother were pushed aside by Thomas. Just sounds like a terrible idea that potentially Bruce and Joker aka Arthur are potentially half brothers.

I get that there’s been things that have tied Batman and Joker a bit closer together in the past such as him being the one who killed the Wayne’s rather than Joe Chill in Burton’s film, but this just is something I’d never want to see. Of course it’s all rumors and speculation at this point, but I honestly wouldn’t put anything stupid like this past a DC film at this point. Especially considering that there’s been rumors that Arthur’s mother is also somehow playing into this film.

Getting all worked up over unsubstantiated rumors and fanboy gossip is no way to go through life, son.

I'm not really worked up just thought I'd share it. Like I say I've actually been looking forward to this, but if that's true my interest is zilch.

Zazie Beetz Reveals MASSIVE Rewrites on Todd Phillip’s ‘Joker’

I can’t say anything. It’s gritty and dark. I mean, I haven’t seen a cut or anything. Gotham. [laughs] The script was great, we rewrote the whole thing while we were shooting it. Literally, we would go into [director/co-writer Todd Phillips’] trailer and write the scene for the night and then do it. … During hair and makeup we’d memorize those lines and then do them, and then we’d reshoot that three weeks later. We had to do everything then because Joaquin [Phoenix] had lost so much weight. We couldn’t do reshoots later on, so we were figuring it out.

Well, they did finish it on time. Now if they were still shooting the film as they went along, that would be a different scenario. It's in the can and we'll see how it goes.
