Re: Your under-appreciated favorites?

We discussed it in another thread recently, but if I'm in the mood for an 80s slasher, Hell Night is a far better option for me than any of the Halloween, Friday the 13th, or Elm Street movies.

Greatly disappointed the first time I saw it. Far less interesting than the original poster art for it.
I recently re-watched it, and going in knowing more of what (and what NOT) to expect, I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Glad I didn't immediately sell it off after that first viewing, like I would have done in the old days.

Too many to list for me as well, but a few that immediately come to mind-
William Friedkin's The Brink's Job (1978)
The Big Fix (1978)
Who'll Stop the Rain (1978)
The Black Marble (1980)
I Start Counting (1970)

Re: Your under-appreciated favorites?

More American Graffiti - Considered a bomb sequel but I've always enjoyed it. I like the parallel story structure of it.

Hope and Glory - the rare 1980's Best Picture nominee that isn't even available to purchase on VUDU. A wonderful autobiographical film by Excalibur director John Boorman about London during the Blitz. It's pretty much totally forgotten now.
