What shows have you STOPPED watching?

Somehow I doubt that. All the characters are annoying as hell and Barney is the worst of them all. I just want to punch him in the face every time he opens his mouth.

Re: what shows are you thinking of quitting?
TV shows are very much a personal taste so I rarely advise people to watch or not watch a show. But Terriers is such a good show I'm willing to make an exception. It's entirely possible that you'll end up hating this show as much as I love it but I think you owe it to yourself to give it a chance. I personally think it's one of the best shows on TV right now.

Re: what shows are you thinking of quitting?
I generally don't quit on shows once they're part of my weekly routine. That's why I've suffered with Smallville for so long. I have three shows on probation this season. Well, make that two: The Event and No Ordinary Family. The former just might make it, but the latter is awful so far. Tonight might be its last chance.

Shows I have quit in the past few years
Grey's Anatomy
One Tree Hill
Smallville
Law&Order SVU(I'll watch reruns once in awhile though)
Right now I'm ok with all of the shows I'm currently watching.

Re: what shows are you thinking of quitting?
I think Nikita got a lot better as it's gone on - same with Parenthood and Terriers that others have mentioned dropping.
I gave up on these returning shows this year:
The Biggest Loser
Brothers & Sisters
Private Practice
and of the new shows I started watching I've dropped:
Detroit 187
Hellcats
Blue Bloods
Outsourced

Re: what shows are you thinking of quitting?
I dumped a lot of shows recently, I think I'm down to about 11 hours that are currently airing...and I watch a lot more 30 minute sitcoms than dramas now, used to be the opposite. Much easier to "watch" while not paying close attention.
One I'm seriously considering dumping is Cougar Town. Everybody on that show just seems to be a selfish jackass even more than last season.

Re: what shows are you thinking of quitting?
I dumped CSI (Las Vegas) last year because there were too many shows on in it's time slot to watch or record. I thought I would catch up over the summer reruns, but found I really didn't give a damn and only saw one or 2 episodes from last year and none this year. Earlier in this thread I said I was going to drop "The Middle" but I'm glad I didn't - this season has been pretty good so far. I stuck with MadMen too. I haven't watched any of this years new shows consistently enough to be hooked.
I'm thinking about dropping "Rules of Engagement" which was really funny last year but this year has been mostly bad so far. "Big Bang Theory" is also now on the bubble for me. Some funny episodes, but both of those shows are getting into "vulgarity mistaken for humor" territory. I'm not a prude or anything, but guys talking about masturbating augmented by howls from a laugh track (or live audience) is just not funny to me. It might have been when I was twelve.

I guess I'm not alone in thinking of dropping Cougar Town. Liked Season 1, but just haven't gotten around to catching up with the new season. Still like The Middle and Modern Family, though.

Caprica. I dropped cable as soon as Battlestar Galactica wrapped up, then considered getting it again when I heard a spinoff was in the works. Thank god I didn't make that mistake. I've been watching this show on hulu the whole time. Battlestar was appointment TV for me, but not this show. It's just so slow, and I don't seem to care about the characters either.

Re: what shows are you thinking of quitting?
I'm on the fence with Aqua Teen Hunger Force and The Office. My beef with Aqua Teen is that it is aired so sporadically I never know when the hell it's on. If I didn't have a DVR I'd never see that show. I'm also finding the show less funny with each season since the movie came out (which I didn't find funny at all).
The Office so far this season just hasn't done anything for me. If Carell leaves after this season, I honestly don't see the show surviving past season 8. Personally, I think the show should've ended last season when
It would have been a downer ending, but it would've been realistic.

Re: what shows are you thinking of quitting?
I rarely drop shows as they are airing. Instead I just put off watching eps until I have a bunch saved and then either do mini-marathons to catch up or just delete them. The only show I have in that situation right now is Breaking Bad, which I have no intention of deleting but just never find myself in the mood for.
Chuck is on the bubble of joining that list. If it wasn't the type of show I don't mind putting on while doing something else I would have dropped it already.

I only watched one episode of Cougar Town last season with guest Lisa Kudrow... and that was it for me.

Just deleted all my saved up episodes of Caprica (could barely get through the first 2 episodes), and am not bothering with Rubicon (deleted all the eps unwatched).
Very close to dropping Stargate Universe.

I'm thinking about dropping No Ordinary Family. I'm already behind in my DVR watching, and that's the lowest priority on my list right now. That would leave:
How I Met Your Mother
Castle
Chuck
Glee
Big Bang Theory
30 Rock
Bones
Smallville
Supernatural
That's a lot of TV to try to watch each week. At least for me.

I dropped Glee.
The wife and I were watching an episode, and we just looked at each other and said, "why the fuck are we watching this?"

Hawaii Five-O is on the fence. I like the chemistry between the stars, but procedurals never hold my attention for too long.
Hellcats is losing me quickly. It had a fun debut, but after five or so episodes it just feels like it isn't going anywhere. The interpersonal conflicts just aren't interesting, and for a show that invests so much into the central cheerleading theme they are somehow making the competitive aspect of it boring. The little bit of bite the premiere had seems to be missing from the subsequent episodes.

I love Burn Notice but its become a show that I just wait until the DVD comes out before I watch it. I have all the season four episodes saved on the DVR and haven't been in the mood to watch it or have found other things I'd rather watch. Truthfully I'm finding myself like this with more and more shows.

Chuck - I just never seem to be in the mood for it anymore.
The Office - it's not in critical condition, per se, but I'd probably put it in the same category as Terry Schiavo before the tube was removed.

Forgot to add that I dropped Blue Bloods 2 episodes in. The family dynamic wasn't working for me, and felt too forced, and the subplot about the murdered brother didn't seem compelling.
