Very disappointed with season 3 so far. With all the extra time Tim Kring and his writers had, it just amazes me that this is the best stuff they could come up with.
The show is watchable, but I really don't get any satisfaction after finishing an episode. I think it's almost comparable to eating a Big Mac for dinner instead of a Prime Rib dinner and feeling full, but not satisfied.
Considering the large cast and special effects costs, I can't imagine that the folks at NBC are happy with 8-9M viewers a week.

Yeah, it's too bad they had to give her such a lame power. It pretty much guarantees she won't be around for very long. I'll be surprised if she survives to the mid-season break. If she did something cool or useful, the character would be worth keeping. But all she does is cry poison and hang around with Mohinder.

Same with Matt and Nicki or whatever her name is now. Time to go away.

Anyone else amazed how much Noah Bennett scares the bad guys he's jailed or confronts? The man (even with the Hatian or Sylar) takes on superhumans who can create black holes, punch through steel, and move things with their minds, and all he brings to the fight is a .45 the prop department thought looked cool.
Speaking of fights, I do hope that they kick it up a notch. 'Dark Angel,' '24' and other shows have proven what you can do with a television budget and there's no shortage of would be CGI effects artists in Los Angeles. The last cool fight scene I saw in Heroes was in the 'Days of Future Past' themed episode in the 1st season and it conveyed much through simple cuts and shots.
I think details, even in the 'Heroes' world is important and the writers have a plethora of previous influences to capitalize on.
One last thing; I think 'Hancock' showed a glimpse of what superhumans would go through in the real world as far as legal issues, property damage, scrutiny, youtube immortalization, etc, and Heroes is far too sterile a world where this all powerful company which has a poor budget and planning department as far as Level 5 goes, can erase any trace of those who've seen what these superfolks can do.
Oh, and I think the Mohinder arc is a nod to 'The Fly' and even Spider-Man, and will provide a counterpart to the notion that everyone with powers can blend in with society and for the some, look like models.

But see that's just it, she has a seriously dangerous power. The writers just don't know what to do with it. If she were made into a "bad girl" in control of her powers then she could be using her powers for mass killings just like in her home town. She could potentially become a major Bio-terror threat.

I honestly cannot remember a show that has ever tanked so catastrophically as this show has.
Good lord what a complete and utter FUBARed mess of a story-line. I'm absolutely convinced that not even the writers have any idea of where they are, where they're going, or what they're doing. Like someone said in last week's thread, this show has refined the use of "deus ex machina" contrivances to an art form. The writers keep painting themselves into a corner and then just invent whatever they need to extricate themselves. As such, you absolutely cannot invest yourself in the story. For example, when Hiro stabbed Ando last night, I didn't react with a "OMG, how could Hiro kill Ando!". No, I just shrugged my shoulders, uttered a "meh", and idly wondered what stupidity the writers were going to come up with next week to explain how Ando didn't really die. At this point, to say that Heroes has jumped the shark is a mammoth understatement.
Over on aintitcoolnews' review of this show, they quoted from Wikipedia’s entry on "idiot plot":
Well not only have the characters of this show fallen into idiot plot territory, the writers have fallen into just plain old idiot territory. They, along with the show runner, should be fired in disgrace.
For a show that had such tremendous potential, I feel only sadness to finally say that I'm out.

Personally, I loved the episode...very curious to see what's next.

Well, I had not watched since a few episodes last year so this weekend I caught up (and fast forwarded through Maya and Hiro's boring last year stories) to get to Season 3.
I'd have to say the writers are definitely competing against Lost for how f*cked up of a story they can write. Between the past, the future, the mind manipulators, the telekinetics.... where they are planning to go when you can't tell who is good, who is evil or what is real and what is not.
At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if the season finale ended with Mr. Muggles waking up and it was all a bad dream from eating an old doggie treat.

There are nods, even homages and then there's flat-out plagiarism.
I'm pretty sure that at the writers meetings for this show they just go through a bunch of graphic novels and comic books and say:
"ooh ooh lets use that this week!"
"but that would contradict what we did earlier"
"only nerds would care"
"okay, let's do it!"

A little late on this, but just watched it. Funny how I'm only motivated to watch each episode right before the next one comes on.
1. Sylar doesn't have super hearing anymore.
2. Petrellis aren't dead yet, that was another of mom's dreams. Though I wonder if that means the first dream is invalid.
Hiro, once my favorite character, is still getting on my nerves... he's just too naive. And I have no idea why the bad guys wanted to recruit him anyway, or what made them think he'd change his idealistic ways to go along with them if he did accept them. There wasn't a moment that might have turned him "dark," so it's obviously just part of some stupid scheme he has to infiltrate them. The Cantina reference was great, though, as was the fact that it wasn't a bar for super villains anyway.
I can understand Murray (who I think was in Level 5 custody but broke out with the rest) putting Linderman into Nathan's thoughts (though why he doesn't just influence him more directly is lost on me). Buy why use Linderman's image for the speedster?
Although I like the new Sylar, I still have a hard time believing that they can trust him to be so docile. It's not like HRG has any way of controlling him directly, if he wanted to, he could just take off.
How the heck are they going to find Parkman? He's not even sure where he is.
Are we ever going to see if the Company has any other agents? Sylar broke in there without any trouble, and Elle, the only one who put up any resistance, is gone. The foot troopers are useless, and the only ones with powers that they have so far are Ma Petrelli, the Haitian, who thought he was being replaced, and now Sylar.

The writers stated that he only got his telekinetic powers back. Of course that's a plothole, but at least they're being consistent with it. If all of a sudden he did have super hearing this ep, how many more people would be ticked about it?
