In terms of Gareth

Spoiler:
preview spots have clearly shown that he encounters the group again, and that he possible has to join them.

I re-watched the episode and he gets shot in the right shoulder by Rick. So I'd imagine we will see him later on.

How that group would ever eve allow Gareth to be around them for less than 3 seconds before putting a bullet (or arrow) in his skull is ridiculous.

This episode should've been last season's final episode, rather than this season's first.

It would've made last season far more satisfying as a whole, with a nice cut-off point. As it is, they lopped off an ending to a story, similar to a movie lopping off it's last 10 minutes. So stupid.

While I agree, I think it's common for shows coming back for a next season to end with cliff-hanger endings rather than actual wrap-ups of storylines.

Shows like Walking Dead especially want you to wonder and worry what happens to the characters next anyway. It makes sense to end the season with the cliff hanger and tense moment, and start the new season off with a bang. Or a cut. If last season ended with this episode with just everyone standing around asking "where to now?" it would be kind of boring.

I agree with you only because the way they ended the season, they couldn't show any previews because it was such a cliffhanger.

I tried to stay away from previews, but I did catch one when I was flipping the channel and it showed them altogether walking in the woods sometime during this season, so that is when I knew that everyone would make it out alive from Terminus. Whereas if this episode was the Season 4 finale, then it would have been more suspensful not knowing if anyone was going to die there.

I think the teaser with Morgan would've been a more proper "what's next" season ender than just ending a season mid-story.

Maybe Gareth has access to something they need and they have to keep him around.

I hope the mid-season finale sees Rick kill him with the red-handled machete.

Just go back to the original post and quote it. You can see the hidden message. I'll save you the trouble, it's underwhelming.

As long as we don't hit the "gay rape" stage ... Then we know the gods have abandoned us.

We already hit the gay pedophilia rape stage last season.

I didn't see the preview but unless Rick is standing right next to him holding his hand I would bet that line is taken out of context like most of the previews.

When my quote of Gooter's reply didn't work, I figured it wasn't worth the trouble to go back to the OP.

Spoiler:
well, it's not like we know a good solution to combating a zombie outbreak to compare it to. But like others said, it sounded like a video game plot. It's definitely going to be revealed that he's full of shit like in the comics. I'll guarantee it.

He basically said

Spoiler:
"I'm going to reverse the polarity!" It all sounded like BS.

A question for "all" and you go on to spoil the comics. I mean, it's pretty obvious he's full of shit, but damn.

Isn't that exactly how Season 1 ended? With the convoy rolling away from the smoldering CDC building and everybody asking "where to now?"

Isn't that exactly how Season 2 ended? They regroup on the roadside (after the farm has fallen) and ask "where to now?"

Isn't that exactly how Season 3 ended? Woodbury has been destroyed so they return to the prison with a bus load of refugees asking "where to now?"

Isn't that exactly how Season 4 ended? With everybody standing around inside the train car asking "where to now?"

That makes absolutely zero sense in the case of Seasons 3 and 4, since it's obvious where they are and there wasn't any question where the characters were going to be to start the new season. Pretty sure no one was asking "where to now?" in the fucking train car And with Season 2, there's a pan up to the prison so at least the audience knew what was coming up next (at least comic book readers).

Season 1 is the only instance where there was a question of where the main characters were heading next.
