How in the hell was I whining? Joeboo asked about PvP classes. I responded with what, in my experience, I could beat and couldn't beat. Two of my buddies are Level 55+ rogues, and they are having major problems getting into the guilds they want to join.

Maybe you should stick to the WoW boards. Your attitude certainly belongs there.

I think he was referring to,

Hunters are pathetic, warriors are even more pathetic.
Hunters are great in PVE, but not too good on PVP. Warriors are always needed in groups as the main tank since they can pull aggro off someone like no other and live to finish the fight. Also, ever PVP'd a warrior with a rogue? You'll rarely see a rogue win that fight. Overpower is an ability to be reckoned with.

Ok, let me rephrase for the ultra-sensitive hunters. Hunters and warriors are pathetic in PvP against a druid. Hunters: sleep the pet, root the hunter, bear, bash, bash, dead. Warriors: root, starfire, moonfire, starfire, moonfire spam, dead without touching me. And yes, I've seen rogues demolish warriors badly. I think a lot of it depends on the skill of the player.

Don't get me wrong. Warriors are kick ass in PvE. I don't like to enter an instance without them. I played a hunter up to L44 on a PvE server. I enjoyed the ability to solo, but I got frustrated with the bitching about hunters in general and the class got really boring for me.

Hunters are probably the best PvE Solo class, but a Hunter that is specced for PvE Solo isn't going to do well in 1vs1 PvP. The solo hunter's strategy involves using the pet to gain aggro while he sits back and does ranged DPS. In 1vs1 PvP, your opponent can't be taunted, so they just walk up to the hunter and start whacking away, there goes all your ranged attacks.

In a huge battlefield, Hunters are great in PvP, since they can once again stand back and use their ranged attacks.

I played some this weekend. Got my horde pvp warrior (lightnings blade realm) up to level 19. I found the joy that is defensive stance. Its great because you take so little damage. The sucky part is when the mob runs because you have to snare ability in that stance. With a partner its great since they can handle the runner and you can take all the damage with taunt and shield block and demoralizing shout.

any engineers out there?
I'm wondering if the invisible trinket and goblin shrinking ray scales to your level? Will they be resisted less as you level?

Sure, it depends on the player, but it's a Warrior's natural ability to kill a rogue. When the rogue dodges (which will be often) a warrior's strike, they have many abilities to take down the rogue, one being overpower. When the rogue crits (which will also be often) the warrior, they also have abilities to take down the rogue.

I tried it out a little last night just to get a feel for the PvP Honor system. I don't have much to report, but holy cow there were corpses EVERYWHERE. Things still seem a bit buggy, so I imagine it'll be a couple weeks until the patch goes live.

I played on the test realm for a few hours on Saturday morning. Tarren Mill/South Shore was insane as usual, I think I got disconnected about 6 times while I was out there. On my last disconnect I was in the middle of The Drag in Orgrimmar so chances are pretty good I'll be dead when I log back on there. Some of the revised artwork for items are pretty nice looking as well as the redesigned epic mounts. Didn't really do much else other than pvp'ing to try and get a rank for Honor points gear.

Is there just one test realm where everyone's copy of their characters go? seems like it would be really crowded.

I'm pretty sure there are only two realms setup at the moment, one PVE and one PVP. There were a lot of people at Ironforge checking out other's redesigned gear.

Very cool.

Another cool thing I read in the patch....

"There is now a regular event in Gurubashi Arena in Stranglethorn Vale. Every three hours starting at midnight, a pirate with too much treasure on his hands will drop a chest in the center of the arena. Whoever can open the chest first gets the contents! Of course, the arena is a PvP Free for All area, so there might be other players who are trying to open it first..."

If you had to reroll and play either a Human Mage or a Human Priest which would you play and why?

Mage:

Deal lots of damage
Summon your own food and water
Teleporting
Crowd Control

Priest:

Heals
Buffs
Crowd Control
Fear baby!

Both classes are highly wanted in groups and in raids as you get to the latter parts of the game. Its all about preference, do you enjoy dishing it out or keeping your party members alive? Personally, I love the Mage and if I were to re-roll I would still go Mage.....only change I would make would be to make a female mage because all the gear was designed for them. My dude looks like Liberace.

Finally picked this up. Just started a Human Paladin (edit = name TuanJim) on Cenarius. Around lvl 6 but just got booted so I'm posting a quick question.

How in the world do you adjust the camera angle? It's great being able to zoom in and out, but now I can't figure out how to get the camera a little lower behind me so I can actually see what's in front of me further than 15 feet. The smart camera option doesn't seem to fix this and neither does the terrain adjust thing. It's starting to bug me -- indoors and outdoors.

thanks.

BTW -- anyone have a specific location for the mining skill trainer in StormWind? It's a little more complicated than Asheron's Call since there doesn't seem to be any sort of coordinate/grid system.

Ok first question. If you hold the Right mouse button you can move the camera and yourself just like a fps. If you hold the left mouse button you can move the camera freely without moving yourself to put it exactly where you want. Of course the middle mouse button will zoom in and out on your character
Second question is Ask a Guard. Talk to any guard and ask for profession trainers and choose mining, They will not only tell you who it is you are looking for but they will also mark the spot on your map if you hit the m key

Hope this helps
