Web browser available

Some users on another forum have confirmed it to work. Pretty interesting, but you need Wipeout to access it.

Pretty neat. Nothing like reading CNN on your PSP!

Edit: Well, its not the most stable of programs. I can only go to one page and then it won't link anymore. That has got to be a firmware issue.

Usually I would agree, but the white accessories included with this set don't match that well. That wrist strap really looks bad. Almost like I'm using my wife's purse strap on my PSP. Thankfully I'm secure with my manhood and don't want to pay another $250 for a new PSP so I'm using it anyway.

I work at a retailer here in Canada, and our chain of stores was expecting PSP to do HUGE numbers over the last few days...and it didn't do them. We had over 100 units to sell and after 3 days have only moved about 20 of them... not an overwhelming number...especially since most system launches sell at least that many units ON THE FIRST DAY.... I'm interested to see how the PSP performs in the next few weeks, but initially, (at least at our chain) sales are extremely underwhelming.

I can't find it on the thread... what's the link to the website with the Lumines clone to play?

I'm sure that's not common, but still. Is it really possible that the PSP will only last one and a half to two hours if all settings are set the highest, with Wi-Fi going as well?

I'd like to get some opinions on this here.
I'd say that's bogus.

My son played the shit out of ridge racer over the weekend. In one sitting he was playing for 3 straight hours ...then complained about his eyes hurting...

I'd guess he played a good 6 hours or so over the entire weekend and I didn't have to charge it.

Has anyone actually seen a 1 Gig Pro Duo Memory Stick? I've seen links to them out of stock, but I haven't actually heard of anyone buying one. It's not that Best Buy sold out of them already, they don't even have it in their system yet. Is it really out?

I bought a Sandisk 512 on Saturday, and now there's a sale on the Sony one for ten bucks cheaper than my sandisk. I'm contemplating getting another one to store movies, but if the one gig one is already here, I guess I'll wait.

I have been having fun playing with the various video converters and putting stuff on the memory stick. 15 fps is decent for cartoons, so I put my new Clone Wars DVD on it. And an ep of Gilmore Girls so the wife could watch something while I drove to Easter dinner.

Went back this weekend to pick up some more games at Bestbuy while they had their sale. I knew they wouldn't have RR, but I was surprised that three stores in my area were out of Darkstalkers, Lumines, and Metal Gear Acid. Picked up Twisted Metal with a five buck coupon, and I guess it actually saved me money because I would've picked up Darkstalkers and NFL Street 2 as well.

Speaking of NFL Street... anybody have it? Can you change the rosters at all? I've seen a review that said it wasn't really worth it for those that have the console version, but I've never played the game before, and am wondering if it's worth 50 bucks?

I have 2 of the Sandisk ones. I brought them about a month before launch because they are kinda hard to come by. Mostly memory suppliers and camera shops stock the bigger cards. That's where I have to buy 4 gigger compact flash for my camera. Best Buy may pick them up but who knows.

Has anybody tried out online multiplayer (infrastructure mode)? If so, how well does it work? Any lag or other issues? I have a gift card coming my way, and I'm considering getting Twisted Metal, mainly to try out this feature. I'm not into sports games, so it's my only option for an online PSP game at this point.

It's not quite the same experience, but this downloadable game will give you an idea of the gameplay.

There's also a java version but I don't have the URL handy.

It works pretty good. I had to try a few times to get into a game, and I didn't notice any lag. I only played a little bit because one player was working everyone else so they dropped out and I was the only one left so it was just brutal. I need to practice more before going online. I haven't played a Twisted Metal game since Twisted Metal 2 on the PS1. The graphics are better than TM2, and the gameplay seems identical to me...i.e. lots of fun.

In the spidey2 game the Rhino&Shocker teamup is awesome! One of the best rouge teamups in a Spidey game

so what exactly would I need to get to get this online? a wireless router? are there certain settings I have to configure on the PSP itself? I am using the AT&T Callvantage wired router. would I have problems because of that?

Well, the headphones aren't that bad, but that Louis Vuitton-esque wrist strap just doesn't look right to me.

I finally got a chance to play Lumines, and my first impression of it was "eh, it's alright I guess." But I couldn't stop playing it, and before I knew it, an hour was up. Although I'm not exactly sure if I totally understand the game yet, it's fun regardles and I can't wait for my PSP to come in.

i've had problems, not sure what they're about. I can login but as soon as i try to get into an actual game, i get a "there is a problem with your wireless connection, please try again" message. It's odd because when i test the connection, it seems to be fine, it's only when i try to join a game, in the game lobby, everything is fine..i'm stumped..

The same thing happened to me. I just tried joining different games until I found one that worked. What's interesting is that the one I got into had a ping of 9999. All of the ones with small ping times I couldn't get into.

Sorry but yes you would need a wireless router or be in a wi-fi hotspot. Do you think it just connects to the internet from the air?
