Solid read that should be posted in the DVD forum. Sure it is an interview with a MS rep, but really has nothing to do with gaming.

Garbage article with no factual support. But at least we know a HD-DVD version of 360 is still in mind.

Tom's Hardware is one of the most reputable hardware sites around.

I don't see how you can say the article has "no factual support".

I commented on the factual discrepencies in the proper thread (in the Hardware Forum) and Tom's Hardware was one of the most reputable hardware sites around. They are no longer of that status and have been for some time.

Well, it's not so much an article, as a news blurb saying MS went with HD-DVD, and then prints MS's talking points as to why. It would have been nice if the reporter went back and validated all of those claims MS is making, but maybe that wasn't the point of the piece.

HOLY SHIT! I WON A 360 from the Mountain Dew contest!

*Removed Imageshack picture*

I only used 4 codes total and only 1 in the time slot I won!

Excuse me while I compose myself and grab some new pants.

Congrats....I've only entered a few codes, have not won. However, my GameRush credit is paying for my 360. Some wise investments and I've only spent a $100 or so.....A lot of pre-orders and then trading back in when done = lots of credit.

Congrats Dave, I haven't even played yet. How many people were you up against in the drawing and what time slot did you use?

I won the 1:50 p.m. slot and there were 1700ish already in when I put in my code. I figured I had no chance in winning so I just picked the closest drawing even though it had more people than others.

This is a link to a site which compiled everything that happened due to the first (documented) instance of Tom's Hardware falcifying review data. There are plenty of links to external websites which voiced their concern over the credibility of Tom's Hardware, including other hardware sites and the game producer.

Of course it is only opinion. It is my opinion, as well as a lot of people (do a google search) that Tom's Hardware articles should be taken with a grain of salt. They are not, as you put it, one of the most reputable hardware sites around; this instance should at least prove that.

Yup. I don't think that personal opinions on Tom's Hardware as being credible or not really plays into this particular article. I'm not sure what kind of factual support is intended to go into an interview/article from MS regarding their choice on HD-DVD.

LOL!

I suggest YOU do a search.
Never did I say they were "one of the most reputable hardware sites around."

I'm simply trying to separate facts from opinions.

Nah, it's cool.
I was just trying to figure out what was going on with MS and their stance on the next high-def medium. Understand that I take a lot of what's thrown around here with a grain of salt, but I don't mean that to be disrespectful to anyone. It's very easy to determine whether a statement is subjective/objective.

Hehehehe, my skills of deception are great. Kind of excited about the whole free Xbox thing. :P

As far as me saying they were reputable, I've never heard otherwise until now.

I guess we'll find out more if other sites pick up this "news".

In addition to Patrick Stewart at the Emperor, Oblivion will also feature Sean Bean (National Treasure, Goldeneye, and Patriot Games) as the Emperor's lost son and heir to the throne and Terence Stamp (Superman, Phantom Menace) as the voice behind the sinister force bent on the destruction of Tamriel.

Shaping up to be a great voice cast for the game.
