I guess no warrantly for me....not sure if GAMERUSH offers them. Oh well. Basically getting it for free with my credit I've built up.
As for that TV, it looks funny on that little stand.

The controller has already been modded.
That has to be a new record! A month before release. Although this is probably the PC version. more photos here

And that is disappointing about Top Spin in Jan. I was hoping to snag that one for christmas.

As much as I want to say good things about Microsoft......this launch window crap is a real joke. It sure would be nice to know have a full list of games I will be playing in less than a month. It would also be nice to be able to hold them to that list.

I'm still happy with my launch window games....yes, more are being delayed, but I feel that a couple will keep me busy. CoD2 and Condemned look sweet. I have 7 games pre-ordered, although...more are getting pushed back. Oh well.

The official launch list for the first Xbox was released exactly 1 week before launch. Now that doesn't mean we won't get it earlier, but we may be waiting another 2 weeks.

That was the main reason I wanted the 360. I'm now debating if I want to pick one up on launch. Need to look at the other titles coming out at the time.

Well, I've been leaning very much on the not getting a 360 side of the fence for a while now. I finally got to see/play with one at Wal-Mart and all I have to say is....I'm definately waiting.
It's not quite as small as I thought it would be. Looks nice though. I really like the feel of the controller, just as comfy as the new Logitech wireless controller that was released a week or two ago for the Xbox. I like the interface, very clean and intuitive.
That being said I was underwhelmed by the demos. You can't say that I haven't seen it displayed at its best, as it was on a nice widescreen LCD monitor at 720p. King Kong looked average at best. I did like how smooth Call of Duty was though. Liquidy smooth framerate, but the graphics themselves weren't a marked improvement over current Xbox games. Kameo was decent, but nothing special. I know many will say that they ARE just demos, but if they are tryig to wow people with the 360, they should have put some better looking games on it (for demos) IMO.
So at least for me, the hardware and interface are very nice but I think I'll wait until I can see some of the more graphically touted games (Gears of War mainly) look. THis gives me more incentive to see what Sony and Nintendo have up their sleeve.

I kinda with you smackdaddy. I'm on the fence as well but I am picking it up. Mostly the reason is that by the time the games are better and must own that will be about the time Revolution will be released and I will need the dough for that system. I'd rather spend $500 on one system now and $500(? just throwing it out there) in 8 months, rather than $1000 in 8 months.
I managed to sell a bunch of games and movies on half.com to afford the system. No I just need some cabbage for Kameo & Perfect Dark.

Granted i wasn't intending to pick one up at launch anyway (no way i could afford it this year) but now that Oblivion was delayed there isn't anything that even makes me miss playing it. Oblivion was the game i really wanted.
I'll just wait until Halo 3 and hope for a price drop. Assuming i don't get wrapped up with the Revolution which i'm hardcore salivating for.

Xbox 360 games will never use HD-DVD - Maruyama
Rob Fahey 10:23 01/11/2005
Next generation DVD format will only be used for video content, says Xbox Japan boss
Japan's chief of Xbox operations, Yoshihiro Maruyama, has confirmed that while a version of the Xbox 360 console which can read HD-DVD discs is a possibility, the next-generation DVD standard will never be used for games on the platform.
His comments were made to Enterbrain's Famitsu Xbox magazine in an interview, where he expanded on a statement made by Microsoft chairman Bill Gates back in June regarding the potential for a HD-DVD enabled Xbox 360.
"It's a possibility, but it won't have any relationship to gaming," Maruyama said, according to a translation from US website GameSpot. "If the Xbox 360 uses a next-generation DVD drive in the future, it will only be used for watching movies that run on next-generation DVDs."
His statement is simply confirmation of what many commentators had already said - that Microsoft can't change the media it's shipping games on halfway through the life cycle of a console, leaving owners of the DVD version unable to play HD-DVD games.
However, it's telling that Maruyama used the phrase "next-generation DVD" rather than HD-DVD specifically. In recent weeks, several supporters of the HD-DVD standard - which is being pushed by Toshiba and its partners - have defected to the camp of rival standard Blu-Ray, which was developed by Sony and will be used by the PlayStation 3.
Microsoft, however, remains a staunch supporter of HD-DVD, for the stated reason that the specification allows for the contents of a disc to be securely "ripped" to another storage device in the consumer's home - such as a Windows Media Centre PC.
The support of the software giant hasn't extended to putting HD-DVD drives in the Xbox 360 though (not least because they probably wouldn't have been ready in time for launch), and is unlikely to carry as much weight as the support of the key Hollywood studios - most of whom appear to be falling in line behind the Blu-Ray banner at present.

As far as the demos, there is ABSOLUTELY no competition when comparing with other consoles and it would take a high end pc to keep up with the 360. The graphics were awesome. Anybody who cant see this, has no business on this forum discussing graphics in any form or fashion. Of course, the graphics will improve dramatically as developers spend more time with this machine. People will jump in and say that graphics dont matter, but for immersion in the game, of course they do. A more realistic world makes it easier for a player to feel that he is a part of the game and that what he is doing matters. After seeing the 360 in action made it easy to see where i'm spending $400+ this xmas...

They should have disabled some of the features on the 360s in the kiosks. The one at my wal-mart that has officially been open for like 5 days already has like 50 profiles on it and the damn thing isn't working right I assume due to people completely dicking it up/wal-mart sucks. But when it was up and running without incident it was awesome.
And I have to agree with everyone saying the display sucks the aisle they have it in at my wal-mart is about two feet wide and the screen is like 9 feet off the ground pointing almost straight down at the ground.......I was able to last like two minutes before my neck said I had to go.

If you like it and think its super fantastic, that's fine. But just because you like them, doesn't make you any better judge of graphics than anyone else.

Aren't the walmart displays standard resolution? Or do they have some special HD setup?
