Guys...Keep in mind some of the Wal-Mart setups are, well, setup wrong. Some Wal-Mart employees actually set these up and did not change any of the settings so it would be displayed properly on the screen.

Kameo was decent, but nothing special.
Perhaps you need to see PGR3, NBA2K6, Armored Core 4, or some other games before you start claiming nothing is special.

WOW....why is everyone so touchy? I'm giving my honest OPINION. Why take it so personal? You would think I was bashing for the sake of bashing.
I'm making my judgements based on what I've seen/played compared to what Microsoft has been touting. I stand by all of my comments. The demos that Microsoft chose to show off the 360's capabilties could have been much better. It was certainly not enough to sway ME towards buying one at launch.
And you've PLAYED these?
The videos for Gears of War have been impressive, but videos are one thing...playing it is another. I'm not about to purchase a system based on a games that MIGHT be great. Fable was supposed to be the greatest RPG ever made..before it was released. Good game? Yes. Great, nope.

Just played it today at Wal-mart. Looks like a high-end PC, except the terrible AA. Jaggies in Call Of Duty 2 were pretty rampant. The LCD it was displayed on was gorgeous (as everyone has been saying). I was pretty impressed considering that these are first generation games, and they always get better (graphics wise). Couldn't play COD2 much because the controls were reversed (aka not Halo). Once I figured out how to reverse it, I was totally screwed. Not sure what happened to me. I was going to get Kameo on launch day, but now I'm not so sure. I need to play it more to decide. Anyone know if any videostore will be renting 360 games on launch?

As we get closer, for those of us who haven't preordered has anyone heard about what some of the chain stores are doing at launch?
I know on Walmart.com it says you can pick one up at midnight in any walmart store. I have yet to hear anything about any of the places like Circuit City and Best Buy who don't take preorders.

I did not preorder either and plan on picking mine up at Best Buy at midnight becasue I heard that they are getting a large amount in. More than any ohter store. Plus, where I am I also have a CC and a Walmart all within five minutes of the Best Buy I'm going to.

I'm going to take a possibly more risky route; Our Super Wal-Mart just opened last week and it is a 24Hr. store so I think In my tiny town of 10,000 there won't be a huge demand so I'll show up there at around 11:00 and see if there is anyone waiting in line @ electronics and hope I can get one there, if not then I'll be getting up early in the morning and running up to BB hoping the demand wasn't so high like people are suggesting and getting one then. I just figure the five minute drive to wait inside beats the 45 minute drive to stand out in the cold

I saw a demo unit at my BB last night. They had COD2 and King Kong running on it using a Samsung display. Looked pretty nice. I didn't try it, but I probably could have, since there wasn't a big crowd around.

I finally saw/played with the kiosk. I don't get the gripes, COD2 looked spectacular. Not leaps and bounds over this generation, but a decent start for a launch title. I only really messed with Kameo though which looked sharp as well.

There's going to be detractors for every console... just look at people complaining about the insanely innovative Revolution controller.
I saw the games and I thought they looked a long way from "nothing special". But what can you do, I'm sure the PS3 graphics will look "nothing special" to some people.

I don't understand the detractors though I can understand if it's your honest opinion but then to try to convince other people that it sucks just cause you happen to like something else better is just plain stupid. Just because you like it doesn't mean everyone else has to, this goes both ways..... kinda like your mom :OOOH BURN!!!:
I, once again will be the proud owner of all three systems and I hope the best for them all and who knows, this time around I might feel differently about them, I haven't really played my PS2 in probably two years because I think the Xbox has surpassed it at least for the games that are cross-platform, but with the PS3 coming out way later it could have an advantage and be my preferred hardware two years from now. I know damn well the Revolution is going to be a fun little system. [/Rant]

Good question. Not sure. I would assume they pull them just so they have the pre-orders covered. This is the first time I've pre-ordered anything there so I have no idea.
Semi-related question. Where do you find the Zelda pre-order cards? Are they similar to the 360 ones? I looked around and had no luck. They were busy so I didn't feel like waiting to ask, as I was on my lunch break. Any help?

I read in another forum that WalMart was sending out e-mails stating that Quake 4 has been delayed (to people that ordered it with the bundles). The launch list is getting shorter....a bit of a disappointment. I have 7 games on pre-order, with 3 at launch (hopefully)

Since I won't be at Best Buy in the morning, they will likely (as usual) run out of some of the games before I get there, so i want to be sure they will actually have the games I preorder

Does anyone know about Tiger Woods 2006 for the 360 having online play? There are threads at a few forums and they are talking about how LIVE hasn't been mentioned and the LIVE logo isn't on some versions of the box. I'm still hopeful that it will include some type of online play but could they really be scrapping it this year? I've been looking for a hint or clue for days now but I'm running out of hope.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I will just pre-order at BB online and pay for shipping. Then I'll have to wait a few days to play because I'm too cheap to pay for expedited shipping
At my local BB they have all of the cards for all systems together in one section, so the Zelda cards were sitting there with the 360 cards. It just looked like all of the other cards there.

It will support up to 4 players online. EA re-announced that at X05.
