Hmm.. don't know what to say about that. If things like decals and outfits for characters are relatively cheap I guess it's not too bad. I played an online game where you paid for your avatar's accessories but the game itself was free, so yeah. I don't mind paying a couple of dollars to download new content as long as it's meaty but some of those things seem a little rough considering you're paying for the game and the Xbox Live subscription and of course some jackass will make their game Pay-to-Play on top of all that (MMORPGs I'd reckon). It just seems more and more like you'll need deep pockets to enjoy the "full" Xbox experience coming up.

People have been buying their way through online games since Diablo, Microsoft is just cutting out the middleman and taking the cash for themselves. Smart move on their end I'll admit it.

Who cares if they buy their way into it? It's not going to effect my game at all. I'd still be able to beat the crap out of someone who doesn't have any experience at the game.

I like the idea of opening this up for user-to-user transactions for player created content. It will open up a whole new auction system for the Xbox 360 population. Not to mention the posibility of selling marketplace points on Ebay for cash.

Here's what the Gamercard looks like so far

<iframe src="http://gamercard.xbox.com/MARTIN5.card" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" height="140" width="204">MARTIN5.</iframe>

LOL I can only imagine what the point system will lead to though. And I know people have been paying for stupid shit on PC games for a long time but never in the console world.

I haven't been on Xbox Live for about a year and a half. I'm guessing all new accounts are given a 3 star rep to start.

I'm also guessing active accounts will update to their current reputation sometime before launch. Either that or everyone will be reset to 3 stars.

According to Rare, Kameo is just a "Taste" of what they can do with the 360

Of course, after it and PD Zero Rare's next game probably won't be ready until the 720 launches.

Why must they tease up by letting us do these neat little things before the launch?
Damn them all!!!

Kinda sucks that I have a no stars considering I've been on LIVE since the first day it launched.

Edited to add:

My wife almost forget to tell me last night that her Wal-Mart finally got their 360 installed and working. I went up last night with 2 friends and we spent over an hour there checking everything out.

We each played the entire Call of Duty 2 demo and I am really excited for it. My one friend was impressed by it as well and is thinking of getting it. The smoke effects in the game were great and we all commented on them a number of times. Some time ago I wasn't sure about the whole regenerating health aspect of the game and while I'm still not a huge fan I do think that without it you would be dying and restarting all the time. The enemies are vicious in this game and show no mercy at all.

The Kong demo was pretty looking but I didn't care for the game play much. Kameo also looks great but I'm going to get it like I thought I might. It's a renter now unless the demo rumored to be on the HDD is different or I actually finish it or enjoy it. The screen these systems are running on are AMAZING looking.

The rest of the videos were ok but most were things I've seen before. I really wish the memory cards were out already because I was dying to download the content they offered.

The controller is pretty cool but with my large hands I kept hitting the start button instead of the X button. It's something that I will get used to in time.

I'm probably going to go up and play a bunch more times before launch day.

Is anybody concerned that this first wave will have bugs in it? That is the ONLY thing that is keeping from making up my mind about getting, (or attempting to get) a 360 on launch day. Sorry if this has already been asked before, but there is way, way too many pages to read through here.

I hadn't considered purchasing a 360 (it's stupid name doesn't help) until I saw a running demo of Dead Rising. If it's a 360 exclusive, it might sway me.

It was pushed back until around March 06, and it is also scheduled to be released for the PS3.

I probably won't get the extended warranty since my CC doubles the manufacturers warranty anyways. I am a little concerned about there being bugs in the system, but I heard MS was pretty good about fixing systems for the first Xbox.

I also got to play the 360 for the first time yesterday at Walmart. The setup there is terrible and kills your neck, but the games were all pretty fun. COD2 was really good, Kameo was fun for the few minutes I played (plan on picking this one up), and King Kong was ok.

Having had to replace my original box after a year, I will buy the warranty at BB. I think of it as a $30 investment on a new system(not sure how much this one will be).

Here is someone who has some achievements listed already. You can also see the open achievements still waiting to be unlocked. The games he's played are Condemned and Call of Duty 2.

I have to admit when I first heard about the achievment system I thought it was pretty rediculous but, I'm starting to warm up to the idea now and I think that rundown is pretty cool it puts my achievment (or lack of) right next to his for comparison

Well, i see Best Buy officially has the bonus points for 360 GAME pre-orders (10,000 Bonus Points for Reward Zone members). Seems ok...it will be $5 off basically (10,000+cost of game = 15,000-16,000 points)
