They will open the doors up at 9:00pm to pass out numbers for Xbox buyers. At 9:30pm, they will close for a brief 30 minutes while they set up the store with multiple xbox demo setups for people to play, and then at 10:00pm, will reopen the store. The store will remain open to the public for 2 hours of free play, demonstrations, etc.
C) At 12:00am (Nov 22), they will begin selling Xbox units in the order of the numbers passed out earlier.

Best Buy is expecting 43,000 Xbox 360’s company wide which works out to about 60 per a store with the midnight opening stores getting an extra 100 each.
According to leaked documents, the company is expecting to do about $16 million in hardware sales (that’s with a planned sell-out), $5.1 million in game sales (that’s 86,000 games), $5 million in accessory sales (again about 86,000 units) and $2.5 million in their scamish product replacement plans (or about 21,500). That works out to about $29 million in total 360-related sales on one day. Not bad.

*edit - Anyone know if that extra controller at Sam's is wired or wireless?

With the delay of Oblivion and Dead or Alive 4 (two games that were in my Gamestop.com bundle), I wrote to them and asked what the replacements would be. They said that they had no idea. Well today I look over my order and see that they've been replaced with Gun and Condemned... two games I was gonna get anyway.

I called Gamestop yesterday to make sure I was on the 1st ship list. They told me I should make the 2nd shipment, but couldn't tell for sure if I would roll into the 3rd or not. I was at a loss for words considering I preordered back in June. So now I have to find a place to get it come 11/22.
What is the best plan to make sure I get one come 11/22. Walmart, Best Buy, Target, Toys R Us?

Super Wal-Mart.
*edit- BTW, thanks for the reviews above. I was on the fence about COD2, but I'm sold.
to all those thinking it looked like shit compared to the PC version. Side by side comparison baby.

Yeah I have 2 Walmarts near me and both are open 24 hours. I guess I will try there then if that doesnt work I will try the Bestbuy near me at 9 am.
I got Halo 2 at the Walmart near me and the line was not too bad, but I assume it will be worse for the 360.

WAL-MART info for launch night
Wal-Mart has begun receiving launch instruction packages, which are intended to prepare each of its outlets for the chaos that might ensue when the Xbox 360 drops at midnight on November 22nd. Employees have been instructed to distribute numbered tickets (as many as the store has 360 units) starting at 10:00 PM on the 21st. The tickets are divided into two sets (green and silver), in order to differentiate between the core and premium bundles. Rumor has it, a few tickets will be hidden in select Hershey bar wrappers… hope you like chocolate!"
