Receiving them early was part of the contest benefits. Personally I'd Ebay mine in a heartbeart, do a 3Day auction. You'd make a small fortune.

Seriously, you could probably get around $1000 doing a BIN and offering overnight shipping.

A little more math for those of us that will be camping out for a console:

Best Buy is getting 15% of the launch allotment split between a little under 1000 stores. Walmart is getting 17% of the launch allotment split between a little over 3000 stores.

Also, Best Buy is receiving at around a 3:1 ratio; Premium to Core. For example: 30 Premiums and 10 Cores. Walmart is reportedly stocking at an opposite ratio, 1 Premium for 3 Cores.

So if you plan on camping out at a Walmart for the midnight launch, get there early. The premiums will be in low supply and spread thin at the low-cost retailer for the midnight launch.

The current eBay auctions (and I'm looking at the "ship on release day" ones) really don't seem that bad in price right now.

You really have to want it bad to be paying premium price to get it 3-4 days early.

I'd seriously consider it as well. It would have to be a well put together layout with a few pics of the system in hand. You'd have plenty of money to go christmas shopping as well.

I quickly checked, looks like it's all "preorder" auctions. Saw one "preorder" auction going for $600

I'd say a 360 in hand should go for more than $1K. There's one born every minute.

I'm getting nervous.
I got the original back order email from Best Buy.
Then, I got a "don't worry about the backorder, you are all set" email.
Today, I got another backordered email.
Hopefully, this is the same issue as before.

I had the same experience with the PSP pre-order, and it shipped on time. Don't panic (yet).

The Wal-Mart in my hometown is only getting 18 360s. Six of the $399 units and 12 of the $299 units. Looks like I will wait until Jan until I get one.

I got it too. As the "you're all set" email said, we will get backorder e-mails but it's still shipping the 22nd.

As stated earlier, WalMart's procedure is to pass out 2 types of tickets (Premium & Core) to the people in line at 10 p.m. If you wait until 11:30, you may be out of luck.

Have any of you preordered at Sam's? Any idea when they're shipping?

Did they tell you, or is this info available online somewhere?

Well, I have to work until 11 that night and I live in an area that's not that populated so maybe I'll have some luck. Also, I didn't see it mentioned before because there are waaaaaaaaay to many posts to wade through and read all of them, so I'm sorry I missed that!

I wonder if the wholesale clubs (I'm starting to think BJs may be the way to go) are going to have a similar ratio to WalMart (hope not). Must have a premium!

I got an automated call from Gamestop today regarding launch night/day. I had been told a few times that they were not doing a midnight opening at the local mall because of the small number of received systems. The automated messaged stated the opposite info. It also said something like, "Remember your trade-ins so you can take advantage of our trade in deal.". I was ALSO told they wanted launch night to be a system only affair and that they wanted folks to pick up their games before this time. I called the local store to confirm everything and the automated message was correct.

I'm glad they are opening at midnight but I think it's a bad move to have a special trade-in thing going on that night as well. I have to say I'm a bit nervous about walking out of a mall near Pittsburgh, at night, with 700.00 worth of highly desired goods.
