I hear ya. I just finished the Hard tier on guitar and that was the song that gave me the most trouble. I had to switch to my Les Paul since my RB guitar likes to use overdrive whenever it wants to. I just never used overdrive until I started to fail in the end and finally passed it. This was also after practicing it several times on 80 & 90% speeds after failing so much.

I thought I was going to have a hard time with Green Grass & High Tides but passed it first time. That one was a breeze compared to Molly Hatchet.

I just finished the Hard tier on GHII and now and I am in the middle of the next to last tier on GHIII on Hard. When I first got these kinds of games when GHIII came out, I never thought I would progress past Easy.

Heard Far Behind by Candlebox on the radio, and the first thing I thought of was that it would make a kick ass Rock Band song. I will pick up Train In Vain for sure, and most likely the Blondie track(the girls in the house like singing Call Me). Will NOT pick up Kool Thing, and I love Sonic Youth. Didn't like it on the record, hated it on GH III. They have so many better songs to choose from.

Why Kool Thing again? Weakest song on the album, I think. Though if you have the double-disc album, the alternate/demo version of that song is kick ass.

Oh well, another cheap week for me.

Speaking of fatigue, I FINALLY beat GG&HT yesterday by ignoring the kick drum throughout the entire fast part. I found out I could consistently hit all the red/yellow and it was only when I screwed up the kick drum timing that I failed. All I had to do was make sure I hit the energy sequences and overdrive. No problem. I say this now, but I failed that bastard twenty times probably before conquering.

This whole damn post majorly brings teh funny! Well done, sir!

And well done for you, sir, for recognizing genius when you read it.

After the Pens game on Friday (woohoo!), I had my first Rock Band gathering in awhile. This game really just never gets stale when you've got some peeps that are into it. We were doing all random songs. I was on drums, as always, and kept getting brutal drum songs. (NIN, RttH) Being a trooper I kept on picking Hard (except on RttH, eff that on Hard)... and then Roxanne popped up and I'm like, finally, a rest... I accidentally tossed one drum stick and my shin started to cramp by the end. I refused to pause the game. So here I was trying to finish the song (the easiest one of the night) with one stick and a seriously cramping leg. I failed, obviously, but made it far enough that the song ended before we got booted. Good story, I know. You're welcome.

I had the guys over Friday as well. We alternate between game nights. Halo night, Wii night & Rock Band night. RB never gets old. I finally got the courage up to sing in front of friends. I've held out thus far. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Everyone is too busy concentrating on their instruments to even care how bad I sound.

Yeah, I don't mind singing, but it seems that I'm so bad people still take notice of my skillz. Unless I'm singing Radiohead... and then suddenly I'm a vocals god. But like I said, nobody can play drums except me and nobody seems to want to try... so I don't have to sing too much.

We usually change up instruments. We're all about equal on all of them but only one of us will sing and I know he wants to play the other shit too, so I felt after a few of these parties someone had to step up to let him do some guitar/drum work. Not a huge deal, but I'll definitely do it a little more after the other night. It was pretty fun.

I have absolutely no interest in the album, and only pre-ordered it to get the songs early. Since it seems they're going to be released on the Marketplace/PSN on the same day the album drops, it's not worth it to spend $12 on the album (for only two songs), when I can get the whole 3-pack for $5.50 at the same time.

Doing vocals on the new Fallout Boy track last night was fucking great! That seems like it'll be an excellent song to double up and do guitar/vocals on as well.

I've heard no indication whatsoever that they'll be released on XBL at all, much less the same day the album is released.

I read it somewhere myself. They are doing three tracks, but only two are a part of the promotion. All three will be up on the marketplace at some point.

Mentioned on the last page.

That, to me, says that they will be available same day as the album drops.

^ Plus it makes sense. They both hit on a Tuesday and the code will likely just be a 25-digit pre-paid code that enables you to download the 440-point 3-pack at-the-time-of-purchase. Hypen-thetically.

I'm thrilled to have Train in Vain, although it is expectedly easy as hell and pretty repetitive on guitar. The weird thing is that it's oddly charted. It seems like there was an opening for some 3-button chords during the bridge, but they chose against it.

I went ahead and grabbed the Blondie song and it's alright. A little tricky, but pretty basic.

I started putting that information into the DLC post today. It slipped my mind last week.

But thanks for the mention for those that don't go back and read post#2 every week. Blasphemers!

Wow the drums for Kool Thing look really fun. I don't really get the hate for that song, I dig it.

This is the first week I've bought all three DLC releases. More like this, please.

Man I just got my drum set and I don't know how you guys do it. I played last night on easy to get my feet wet, and it wasn't to bad. When I bumped the difficulty up to Medium I just sucked, I can not hit that darn drum pedal in time with the notes. I guess I just have to practice more.

The coked-out monkey spasms will subside... just keep banging away. I can at least 4-star every song on Medium without much effort (except GG&HT, bastards) and hold my own on most Hard songs. I never thought I'd survive to see Hard. I've simply got no natural rhythm... but I'm still the best drummer of my limited group of Rock Band playing friends. I'm proof that anyone can do this. I'm also proof that not everyone can sing vocals. But I've already discussed that problem. It's probably more of an issue that I keep trying.

as jdpatri said - it'll come. I started on easy, played it through, then medium, now i can 5* almost all of hard, and have been chipping away at expert. And this from a guy who failed songs on easy when I started.
