Wow no DLC for me for a long time. I think the NIN pack was the last time I bought DLC.

Can we get some more metal please?

Yes...More metal...Or at least some hard rock. Most of this stuff recently seems closer to pop music to me. Good for all of you like like this more simplistic radio friendly stuff, but I am anxiously awaiting more complex and challenging songs. I'd love to see a full concept album released. Something like Dream Theater's "Scenes From a Memory", Shadow Gallery's "Tyranny", "Operation: Mindcrime" by Queensryche, or most of all "The Crimson Idol" by W.A.S.P. Playing one of those in its entirety one song after the other would be a dream come true.

Didn't know that was the name of the Clash song so I will be getting that.

Kool Thing, don't really mind it, but I am only going to double dip on songs from GH if I really like them. Kool Thing doesn't qualify.

Hate to be the RB DLC whiner, but I am going to...of all the Blondie songs, they go with that. Really, really weak.

I probably won't end up getting any of them. I don't mind Kool Thing, but GHIII is enough for that song.

I can't believe they've released two Blondie songs, and neither was One Way or Another

I'm one of those that says Kool Thing can suck a fat one. Can't imagine getting to play it on other instruments will change my opinion.

Been a long time since I saw someone else mention Shadow Gallery. Good stuff but Magna Carta (label) are morons and would probably want too much money.

I'd have to think some kind of Dream Theater is inevitable for RB or GH.

I could imagine "Pull Me Under", "Metropolis - Part 1" and "Lie" (probably the single edit) being the kind of stuff that would be used first. Possibly something off the new record since Roadrunner has been much more active about promoting the band through various avenues. Hell DT did some kind of XBL video premiere thing last year I think so they are obviously aware of the gaming community.

Now give me some Opeth, Porcupine Tree or even Rammstein and I'd be in heaven. Rammstein would be hilarious for vocals. Instant German lesson!

A man after my own heart. My two favorite albums of all time. Followed closely by the Who's Tommy. Three concepts, three perfect albums, three that would absolutely fucking rock in Rock Band. I suggested all three on the Rock Band web site. I suggest you do the same.

I think for any Dream Theater, they'd have to tackle the early catalog... back before every song was 10+ minutes long. You are right about Road Runner though, they have been a godsend for the band and I can see them pursuing EA/Harmonix to make it happen.

The Offspring have a new album coming out in June. I'd love to see a promo tune for them. I listened to a couple of albums earlier and they have some killer songs that would be great in Rock Band.

Yes. Goddammit. Dream Theater.

They should go balls out and release "A Change of Seasons." Drummers will be losing limbs left and right.

Speaking of fatigue, I FINALLY beat GG&HT yesterday by ignoring the kick drum throughout the entire fast part. I found out I could consistently hit all the red/yellow and it was only when I screwed up the kick drum timing that I failed. All I had to do was make sure I hit the energy sequences and overdrive. No problem. I say this now, but I failed that bastard twenty times probably before conquering.

I listened to the preview of that Blondie song and I still can't remember a single thing about it.

Totally generic and nondescript....strange choice IMO when they have so many great songs.

Well, to be fair, eventually Rock Band had to include the power pop juggernaut that is Sonic Youth. The question on everyone's minds is now, "Which of their seventeen record #1 hits will they pick next?"

Has anyone tried to get the Disturbed tracks? I pre-ordered the CD but never received any instructions on how to get the tracks...

Popularity of the artist has nothing at all to do with it. My disappointment lies in the fact that there are far too many songs being put out in Rock Band DLC that a) have no challenge to them and b) are just simply not fun to play. And in my opinion this is due to them picking songs from bands that are just not that skilled at their instruments and write boring songs with simple and very repetitive chords. Pretty much songs that you can hear once and already have them figured out. That is my personal definition of radio friendly pop type music. Sonic Youth falls into this category in my opinion. Especially with Kool Thing (God am I dreading ever having to to vocals or guitar this one on a random set list. Drums should be ok).

I like music that takes time to sink in and where you're discovering incredible new things every time you hear the song. I think stuff like that would translate very well into Rock Band and offer some good challenges. Of course that is just me. Like I said, I am happy for you guys who really dig this stuff...You are definitely in the majority over people with limited and specific tastes like mine. I wish I could get into more styles of music, but I just can't stand most of it.

It looks like you won't get the codes until the album releases. With that knowledge, I'm going to be calling in to cancel my pre-order tomorrow.

Then why are you buying it?

Got to say I am with the other opinions on the Blondie song. All their songs and this is the one they come up with? Strange.

I will definitely get The Clash song. Didn't realize I knew it until I Youtubed it.

The Sonic Youth song on GHIII is enough for me. Never been a fan.

I only buy te stuff I really want that they release. I figure sales/download amounts are the best barometer for them to decide what they will release next. It just doesn't seem to be working for me so far.

I've bought and will continue to buy all the DLC that is released. It's not alot of money for me to buy all the DLC and I like to have as many songs as I can on there to keep it fresh for everyone who comes over and plays. I could be selfish and only download what I want, but I know alot of people with very different tastes in music from me that I do not mind accomodating. The more fun it is for them, the more fun it is for me. It just sucks when I play as my solo band and end up having to play songs I cannot stand, such as that Honest Bob and Factory Dealer Incentives song <shudder> and soon to be Kool Thing.

Haha...And I'd be the first one in line. That would be friggin unbelievable if we got that on DLC.

Yeah...Getting anything from Shadow Gallery on Rock Band is something I expect will never happen, but I keep hope alive.

Opeth would be sweet! Never heard of Porcupine Tree. I've been thinking the same thing about how cool it would be to do vocals in another language. I'd definitely be down for some In Extremo (german), Mago de Oz (spanish) and Aria (russian) off the top of my head.

Thanks for this info, Shagrath. I just went ahead and sent an email to Customer Care requesting a cancellation of my pre-order.

Fuck Molly Hatchet in the ear. They're the last song I need to finish to get through Hard. At this point I'm mostly through Expert, too.

Just saw that Train In Vain will be added next week. One of my all-time favorite songs. I'll certainly spring for that one even though I think it's less than 2 minutes long. I just have to buy it, though I can't imagine getting too big a score on a song that's over that quicky

One thing I've always loved about the song is how it's so amenable to other interpretations. It's kind of the punk "Yesterday". That's why I think it would be a fun song to sing at least.

Looks like those South Park songs may not be happening.

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Sou...orrection/9576
A few days ago we reported about info that Paramount Home Entertainment had passed to retailers about the upcoming August 12th release of South Park - Season 11 on DVD. In our report, we quoted studio-provided material informing sellers that this set would contain the following bonus item: "While supplies last, every DVD will include a 3-song download pack for the MTV Games sensation ROCK BAND!"

That sounded pretty cool, and we know that our story was picked up all over the internet by happy fans. However, we have to let you down on that score. Late yesterday a studio spokesperson contacted us with bad news: this won't be happening after all. When we questioned further about the cause of this, we were told that the information we received from retailers was incorrect.

There will be other bonus material on this release, though, and Paramount promises to get us the details on that just as soon as they have them available. Stay tuned and we'll update you!
It may still be coming and the information got out too early, and now they're backpedaling. Who knows? I know rumors can get started on the net very easily, but this one just seems too odd to be a rumor.

I'd love that. I'm hoping that with the fact they're on the Lollapalooza bill, the chance of an Amadou & Mariam rises from 0.01% to 0.5%. "Coulibaly" would be, at the same time, the most enjoyable and hardest guitar song to play. And I can practice my French pronunciation, which is atrocious.

I wouldn't mind having some (ugh I hate this term) Rock en Español: Café Tacuba, Maná, Control Machete, etc.

Or Manu Chao.

Or Brazilian stuff. I'd love to try and play Jorge Ben's "Ponta de Lança Africano"

And hey, since he's in GTA4, why not have some Fela Kuti?

That's definitely the dyed in the wool thought process of a Dream Theater fan.
