That would be a fun album.

I would love some of the ones mentioned

Def Leppard - Pyromania

In addition,

Led Zepplin - IV
Pink Floyd - pack of songs as I don't think they have an album that would work completely as a rock band release

Some fun 80's hair metal bands, LA Guns, Warrant, Poisons first album, etc.

I know we already went through this but it requires repeating...

Dream Theater - Images and Words or Scenes From a Memory

I typed that bigger because it's a pipe dream and therefore needs to be said more obnoxiously and with greater emphasis.

I'd love to play "Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing" on guitar. Unfortunately that whole album will probably never make Rock Band as it is mostly instrumentals.

Some great choices there. I'd also love "Neon Knights", "Children of the Sea" and even more so "Die Young". I guess I might as well just wish for the whole "Heaven and Hell" album.

W.A.S.P.'s "The Crimson Idol" could fall under that category. I think that would be an ideal fit for Rock Band. Great emotional vocals, awesome solos, kickass riffs and very complex and inventive drum work. Just one of the best conceptual albums ever made in my opinion.

Well technically I think you'd need two drum sets just to play the regular parts.... so you'll have a spare anyway.

Does it matter that I've practiced air-drumming most of the Dream Theater songs for more than ten years? That's got to count for something. I may need some help surviving the kick drum on a couple songs though.

Got Rock Band yesterday. Loving it to far, but my guitar already stopped going into overdrive! RMA'ed that shit. Oh well. Kick ass game, however!

So I downloaded Hysteria blind yesterday based just on my love for Knights Of Cydonia in GH3. When I started the game, my six-year old wandered into the room and asked if he could play. He chose guitar (medium - he rocks!), and I chose expert for bass. HOLY COW! I had no idea what a crazy bass track this was - it totally caught me off guard and I spent the last few minutes laughing my ass off at how poorly we were doing until we ended up failing about 2/3 into the song...

I redeemed myself a few hours later by gold-starring the song in expert guitar on my second pass through (I was ranked 20 on PSN last night when I called it quits). Woo-hoo!

I'm definitely going to have to track down some more Muse.

Yeah, that Muse song is fun on Drums as well.

Not the hardest thing in the world, but it plays different compared to most songs.

Well, after getting a deal on points (thanks target!), I broke down and bought about 15 songs this morning. Now I have basically every song I want off the store thus far except for Gimmie Three Steps which I'm obviously waiting until Tuesday for.

Unfortunately, I'm out of town all week and won't get to play my new tunes. I did try Last Train to Clarksville on Hard and it kicked my ass. Who knew the Monkees rocked so hard?

Also got some Points from Target yesterday. Bought all the songs that I still needed, but 3 of them. I just can't get myself to buy A&A, Beetlebum, and the Buzzcocks song.

The Buzzcocks song (Ever Fallen in Love) is fun as hell on vocals and drums. Pretty much all of the punk songs are pretty bland on guitar, but are good on other instruments.

I literally laughed out loud picturing a MUSE newbie stumbling into expert bass on Hysteria.

That. Is. Awesome.

Glad you enjoyed it...one of my favorite current bands.

Here's the transcript I found:

"Three songs. And we re-recorded one. They wanted 'Through Being Cool' for some reason, which is kind of odd because its all synth solos, so we re-recorded it. My brother Bob, who's our guitar player, played all my synth solos, synth leads, as guitar leads, so it would relate to the game better, and then we recorded one of those little crazy endings that they put on it."

Dammit, the completest in me went ahead and picked the rest up. I read what you posted and grabbed the Buzzcocks, and then I thought I might as well get the rest.

That is awesome about Devo.

I would also like to see the entire album Comfort Eagle by Cake. Every song on that disc is good.

Well you know what they say about blind squirrels...

You can take comfort in that aphorism.

I just thought of Cake though when i found the CD in my collection and listened to it at work today. Every single song on that album is good. I think it would be really fun to sing and probably easier songs.
