I really enjoyed the lower level tiers on Hard, but the last tier of hard destroys me.

Yeah, I was just about to post my mini-review after playing them on guitar, and that's really what this pack is all about.

The only song that completely caught me off-guard on sightread was Don't Cha Stop, which requires quick fingers and strumming. Otherwise, they are pretty straight forward with some tricky parts thrown in. My favorite songs of the CD (You're All I've Got Tonight, My Best Friend's Girl) are also my favorites so far to play. Also of note for folks who haven't liked the charting of organ/piano in past songs, the synth parts are not charted in any song.

I'm sure folks who are FC kings will be done with them by day's end, since I came close on a couple first time through, but these have a lot of replay value for me. And for folks wanting party songs, at least half of these qualify in spades.

I'll give them a shot on drums later. Vox should be a lot of fun, too.

Absolutely, I haven't played them yet but I can already anticipate these being top choices at parties, especially the big ones like "Just What I Needed." I hope we see some more packs like this (80s pop/rock) down the line, as they're great songs and most people know the lyrics to a lot of them, which helps when you're trying to convince someone to be the vocalist at your party

Definitely! My wife may regain interest once she gets home and hears these playing.

Just an update on the drums. If you are like me, a poor drummer who has hit the skill wall and needs a confidence boost, play these charts! Well, I've only played 4 so far, but for someone who doesn't completely spaz out, they are a very good intro to Expert. And they are very fun, so it's tougher to get frustrated when you continually choke on Overdrive phrases or screw up fills.

ETA: Premature. You're All I've Got Tonight is very challenging if you have a tough time with constant bass pedal.

So has anyone gotten the German/French vocal songs? I got them all but I haven't tried to sing "Manu Chao" yet although it's a fun song to play.

Picked up the German poppish song: Juli - Perfekte Welle. My daughters liked the sound of it and I'm sure will be regurgitating the actual German they hear in it in no time.

Anyone done the rubber band mod for the guitar strummer?

http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?p=774206

My strummer is starting to feel a little loose and was wondering what my options were.

Return it. Have EA send you a new one as the magnetic strummer is much better.

Just went on a downloading spree...got:

Ten Speed
Zero
Hysteria
Rock 'n' Roll Star
This Ain't a Scene
Moving in Stereo (I always forget The Cars did that, but I really like it for some reason)
Best Friend's Girl
Just What I Needed

Moving in Stereo
Best Friend's Girl
Just What I Needed

Trying to decide between these 3 and the album. There's too many song I don't recognize/remember at all I think for me to get the whole thing for $15.

I just went ahead and bought the whole album. i wanted 5 of the songs so by then, might as well get the whole thing. After playing the songs I didn't know today, I am glad I did. Even the unknown songs are pretty damn good.

And I am so glad I bought Hysteria by Muse. What a badass song. Now I have to buy an album of theirs.

I was going through listening to them all, and I kept looking for a reason to buy the album, but I just didn't think there were more than 7 songs I'd ever want to play much (7x160=1120 points, 1200 for the album). So I'll just pick up a few others when I feel like it, and save my points for now.

After playing those 3, my favorite to play (although the easiest, by far) is Moving in Stereo. Best Friend's Girl is fun, probably the toughest. Just What I Needed is my favorite to listen to, but probably least favorite to play - still fun though.

I think The Cars in general are a better "listen to on the radio" band than "play in Rock Band" band. But still good tunes to play, the more classic rock the better, IMO.

Ya, I think there's 3+ I'd never play. I'll just pick up a few now and hope we see some more $1 ones later on.

I made a 3 pack of Best Friend's, Stereo, and Got Tonight. Pretty happy with that and that will complete my Cars collection.

All I Know is that I am kicking Uncle Gramps ASS in Moving in Stereo!

And that I've determined my red pad is bad and needs to be sent out. I can do a long roll on it, then for about 5 hits in a row, nothing will register

Just to point out for those with EL sets, Shagrath's right about steering clear of the Official Silencers. Bought them for my EL set after hearing of success from other folks, and began dropping notes like mad. I decided to do the old "coin mod" to increase sensitivity and things improved, but not to where they were before the pads. At one point, I was having to hit the kit so hard, it finished the song a good 4 inches lower than where it was before.

If you have a QM or SL set, you might find better success, as it seems plenty of others have. For us EL'ers, I wouldn't waste the $20.

I started to type it out, but realized that my directions were confusing even me. Basically, the model number is on the bottom side of the drum head set-up. Go here for a better explanation:

Not any more.

BTW, what's the release order for the different drum kit models? I got the game on launch day and have a QM. Did EL and SL models come later, or were multiple models released simultaneously?

As far as I know, ELs and QMs were the launch sets. I got my EL set on day 1. Not sure when SLs hit.

Dammit - how far ahead are you? My expert run was 100 points less than my hard run, and I know I can do better

My set is a QM set - so that explains the red being an issue apparently.
