Man, EA is a piece of work. Just got my RMA drums, and it's an EL set (which will probably mean the Official Silencers won't work very well). Honestly, no big deal as long as the drums work.

So that doesn't bother me nearly as much as what are clearly a bunch of dents in the heads from stick hits. They say that there is no refurb program and any marks are from quality testing. If that's true, someone obviously used Run to the Hills to quality test mine.

Kotaku is reporting that RB2 is starting to show up in retailer databases with a November 2008 ship date. If true (and likely), this could be another reason why the DLC is lacking more "mainstream" artists and songs. Gotta have meat on a retail disc.

That's complete bull. I should take pictures of mine. Three pristine drum heads and one beat to hell red pad. Apparently they only tested the one. And if there's no refurb program, why are they still sending out the oldest revision of drumset?

I'm thinking of reworking the DLC post. I keep track of a lot of RB stuff in Excel (my top scores, note streaks, DLC spending, etc.), so it wouldn't take much additional work to add in another worksheet and put all of general DLC information in there.

Is there anything in the DLC post now that isn't needed? Or what are some additional things I could do to make it easier to work with? I know someone mentioned having chronological DLC options (to see what they've missed). Anything else?

So I kinda figured out that if I don't go all out on expert vox, and play the meek person that doesn't want to sing.. I do much better. Kinda "no fun," but oh well...

I'm exactly the opposite. When I play expert vocals at home in the apartment, I'm too focused on not disturbing my wife, the neighbors, the cats, etc. When I'm at our weekly get-together in a room that seats about 50-75 people and completely rock out (dipping the mic stand, putting my feet up on the tables like they're monitors), I do way better and hit 95+%.

Different strokes for different folks, it seems.

Different strokes.

Maximo Park's "Girls Who Play Guitars" is probably the best DLC Rock Band or any other GH game has so far released.

I wish I could "gift" the Maximo Park song. I'd send it to at least 10 people.

Really? I listened to it on youtube and it was catchy, but nothing mind-blowing.

Don't you know The Bus is cutting-edge? He's the definition of indie rocker!

PS: I'm in agreement with you.. for once.

Well, anyone that wants it but is on the fence, I'll Paypal you $1.00 if you don't like the song. Just send me a message via Xbox.

* Offer limited to first 5-10 friends. If I don't see your score on the song's leaderboard within a week, I will publicly call you out.

For what it's worth, my hope of ever playing "Stars and Sons" or "Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth" or "Walcott" is dirt low.

Damn, I wish Nine Inch Nails fans would offer up some cash for the only DLC pack that I actually deleted.

At all costs stay far away from the Blockhead - Rock Band Hit Kit. I picked one up yesterday, and once I covered the drum pads with the foam covers I kept dropping notes. When I removed them I didn't have a problem. They also come with replacement drum sticks which makes it feel like your carrying 2 bricks in your hands. I have yet to try the bass pedal which came with the set also, but no doubt it will suck too. I knew I should have picked up the official Rock Band dampeners.

I'm not a huge fan of Serj so I took you up on it. I ended up liking it.

Yeah, I used to use it as my warm up song I played it on guitar for the first time ever the other day - I was confused because there were no guitar fills required when my meter was full

Attn: Maximo Park fans

"Girls Who Play Guitars" is currently $2/160 MSP on the Marketplace. HMX is looking into it, as it is supposed to be a $1/80 MSP track. I think if you buy it now, you're pretty much out of a dollar, as MS is probably not going to reimburse you without calling in and begging for it back. Hopefully it'll be fixed later today or tomorrow for you guys.

Definitely a mistake.
