Just looking at the guitar parts, this week seems to have lived "up" to the animosity it has gotten (as far as the MTV2 contest winners). Pretty much shrug-worthy across the board. Seems a little odd that they didn't pair this obligation with one of last week's packs instead.

I like the Maximo Park song, but even that chart looks pretty mediocre. I might bite when the price is fixed.

Chart-wise, the Maximo Park is nothing exciting although definitely more fun on Hard than Medium. I just like the band.

Apparently HMX has clarified that the price is supposed to be 160 MSP ($2). Oops.

I think I want to punch the people who did the expert guitar note charts for Flirtin' With Disaster and Green Grass and High Tides. These are the only two songs I need to complete guitar expert and i'm stuck. I've been trying Flirtin' With Disaster for 4 hours now...only to get 82%. GGAHT, I can only get 35%. Very frustrating.

Any tips for all those ridiculous HOs/POs?

Looks like he goofed when first posting the DLC last week.

Looks like you'll be shelling out twice as much as you though, The Bus.

I'm stuck on Green Grass too. Just barely got by on Flirtin' With Disaster. I can make it to about 85% on Green Grass and it just falls apart. I need more overdrive to get through it, but it's already full by the time I start the second solo and I can't manage to get enough during the solo.

Same here. I also have Highway Star left as well. No tips from me.

I really don't have any tips that anyone would want to use. I still fail FWD about 20% of the time, and have never gotten a combo going through the verses and chorus, much less the insane solo. And it's probably my most played on-disc song. 4 1/2 stars is the best I can do, and the starring on that one is very, very generous (mainly because I think I've topped out at 84% notes hit).

And I'm really sorry to tell you, but 35% on GGaHT means you haven't really even hit the hardest parts yet.

My cousin loaned me his mic stand and I'm having a blast with singing and strumming. Is there a dvdtalk group or something to join? Either on a website or on Live? how does that work.

Practice mode, slow the song down in the parts you fail at until you get the fingering right and bring the speed up a notch once you 100% the troublesome section.

These harder songs take work to get good at.

I set up a gamertag called DVDTalk Rocks, which you can add. Then go look at friends of friends and invite those guys into a game.

Nope. Move on to expert, that's what I did...one day I'll be able to make it more than 45% in Getting better and better at it though. I even tried lefty flip, but that didn't help

Don't Panic.

Get the rhythm down and work with it. It's a tough song, I'm on the next-to-last tier in Expert and I still can't finish it on Hard without pausing it once.

Practice a lot. Focus on the red drum and bass pedal, and pretty much ignore everything else until you get comfortable with red + bass. You may find it easier if you get used to hitting the red pad with both sticks (if you don't do that already). I'm most of the way through the Expert career and I still don't always make it through RttH on Hard. When I do make it through, I'm never above 3 stars.

Damn! My yellow drum pad just cracked down the middle and with EA's new 60 day policy I am SOL. No way I'm dropping another $60 for a drum set that may not last. Need to figure out some other way of getting a replacement.

Some new DLC information has surfaced. Seems there was a commercial on MTV for the MTV2 pack, and while scrolling through the songs, it listed some that aren't up on the service yet.

Avenged Sevenfold - Afterlife
Machine Head - Aesthetics of Hate
Nirvana - Breed
Nine Inch Nails - Burn

Apparently the master recordings for half of the album were stolen, which kinda kills the chances of getting it as a full album. They could always release a pack of just the songs that still have masters, though.
