That's strange, I don't remember asking for excuses. You disgust me, sir.

Better start practicing the whole "yelling out your kid's name" thing now. That's an important parenting skill. Also (Trial #3 spoiler)...

There aren't many games out there that you can't beat in a weekend.

But yeah, it's a very quick 8 hour game. I bought it to be supportive of the genre, thankfully it's good enough to keep.

The DLC seems like another reason to buy rather than rent, if you really enjoyed the demo.

I love how we've totally wrecked this page for those that haven't finished the game.

Spoiler:
Points to me for completely ignoring the thoughts system!.

I thought it was Shelby when Lauren brought in the envelope and he mentioned the typewriter with one sitting on his desk. Who the hell still uses a typewriter?! ... other than Brevard County Clerks Office in Florida who a couple years ago sent us back a Word document printed out and typed out on a typewriter

Ethan denied Madison a kiss, Jayden decided that he wanted to die while using ARI (with no warning whatsoever, thanks game), didn't make it through powerplant and didnt drink poison but guessed the right location of my son. Madison made it out of the fire and met ethan at the warehouse, ethan saves shawn, shelby shows up and shoots ethan, madison fights shelby up on this crane thing and is about to shoot madison before ethan comes up and shoots shelby in the back. Ethan gets a house and lives with his son, madison writes and book and is at a book signing, blake finds Jayden's ARI and puts them on and jayden walks in (in ARI, not in real life) and Blake pisses himself) and then it shows Shelby's grave.

Same ending for me! I'm almost ready to start right over!

Re: Heavy Rain -The Official Thread (Launches 2/23/10)

Crappy ending for me:

Spoiler:

All guessed location right. Madison got in the fridge and got out, but I couldn't get her past the cops on the scene. Shelby knocks out Jayden on the conveyor belt and Jayden falls to his death in the grinder thing. Ethan gets shot to death by the cops when he opens the warehouse door. Shelby lives.
Madison book thing, etc. I did drink the poison - he lives past the 60 minutes. Must have been fake.

I know it seems easy to push buttons but there was one down arrow with the clockwise circle movement in it I kept not getting for some reason. I'm sure it cost me. Bah.

Gonna try and finish it for the first time this weekend. Not sure if I'll play through it again right away.

That was the first ending I got as well. Don't forget that you can go to "Scenes" (or "Chapters", I forget the exact word they use in the menus) and replay that last scene to try and get a different result. That's what I ended up doing.

Re: Heavy Rain -The Official Thread (Launches 2/23/10)

My ending.

Spoiler:
I didn't go to the right location to save Shaun but I did manage to get Madison out. So I see Ethan and Madison at Shaun's grave. Madison is about to leave and Ethan says give me a few more minutes I'll meet you at the car. As Madison walks away Ethan pulls out a gun and blows his brains away. Cut to Madison running to his body and crying over him. Jayden apparently ODs on Trypto. As for Shelby you see him walking on the street in the rain. I forgot to say it started out with a news broadcast that identified Shelby as the killer but says he has not been caught yet.

Amazon is supposed to be emailing codes for the dlc today.

I believe that this first DLC chapter is free for those who pre-ordered and $5 for those who didn't. Should be on the PSN some time today.

Re: Heavy Rain -The Official Thread (Launches 2/23/10)

...I didn't pre-order, but I'll support just about anything released for the game. It wasn't much of an actual game, but I love this kind of interactive storytelling and dammit, we need more of it. (Word has it that it sold 500,000 worldwide in its first week , of course, this is VGChartz, so it's probably close to 350,000)

Yeah, I'm not home to check, but I wouldn't expect it to be available for download before the store updates (usually between 6 and 9 PM Eastern).

Bet those people who paid $15 on Ebay earlier today are going to feel really stupid once it does update.

I also got my code from amazon, so far it's saying it's invalid.

Well the PSN store updated and no DLC this week. Maybe the people with codes can only download it this week.

I haven't tried it yet, but even people with the pre-order codes say it's not working yet.

For people with codes it seems to be working now. For the rest of us we will have to wait till they decide to sell it on psn.
