Just got the X1. Quick question.

What is the easiest way to move local player accounts over from my 360?
I have a few players I created just for local play and don't want to have to recreate them all over again on the X1.

I remember having to upgrade my daughter's account to free/silver XBL. It was pretty easy after that, but you might need an email for each account that way.

Store the profile on the Cloud, then you can just download it from the Cloud on the XO

What about a usb stick? I don't want to have to create XBL accounts just to move these locals.

Or can I use my Gold account to store these other local accounts in my cloud?

I don't think there is any transferring of the profile you need to do. You keep your 360 profile on your 360 and sign up with the same on the xbox one (and like pinata said, you now need to link it to an email and need to do that first).

From what I can find, there's no way to transfer a local account to Xbox One, because Xbox One doesn't have local accounts. All accounts on Xbox One need an email address associated with them, making a corresponding Microsoft Live account.

You can use family controls on the Xbox One to allow you to control these other Live accounts if they're for kids:

If you use gmail, instead of creating random email addresses for these accounts, you could use the gmail trick of "[email protected]" to create new accounts with aliases of your gmail email address.

I posted this on another thread but not much response. I have an Xbox. About 15 digital games between actual and arcade games. I gave that to my brother. I just bought the Halo bundle with 2 games and 50.00 gift card at ms store.

Right now my brother can play my digital games. I my xbox were having issues because I haven't made it my home xbox so my kids log me in to be allowed to get online etc

What happens to my brothers ability to play my games when I make my new xbox my "home xbox" tonight?

That's not true, is it? Doesn't the Xbox that first downloaded those digital games have the same rights to them as the purchasing account?

The purchaser's "Home Xbox" has rights to them, plus the purchasing account. There's no license transfer this gen.

Correct. If you make your brother's xbox the home xbox then he can still play your games. However, only you can play games on your console.

I think as long as your profile is logged in, anyone else can play on your console as well

If you're new to the preview program, remember that very frequent updates come along with it and most of them are just minor fixes. There have been 3 (I think) within the past week.

Some fun things, including Moore having to get Ballmer's approval for the RROD replacement program, them making fun of the Duke controller for the original XBox, the XBox green color coming from a left over marker that no one used, their favorite games from each generation, cancelled games that never made it, talk about the hardware including the original XBox being AMD until a meeting with Intel 2 days before the announcement, and the "Mad World" Gears of War trailer. Spencer talks about the last couple years with the XBox One launch at the end of the interview too, with the poor XBox messaging being called his own Red Ring situation. Fun stuff.
