It's just a Super Bowl simulation that you are required to play through. It's a pain but only lasts about 10 minutes or so. Once that is complete you have access to the full game.

That's correct. I played a lot of Ultimate Team over the weekend. I swear, half the time was spent loading or ending games. The early challenges are like "score from the goal line with 4 seconds to go". 3 minutes to load it, then another two to end it.

I bought my wife Fantasia this weekend, and she played it obsessively for hours on end and (seemingly) unlocked a bunch of achievements along the way. I've read about achievement lag, but I'm surprised that I still haven't seen anything. Strangely, videos for the achievements automatically recorded even though nothing about the achievements themselves popped up. The SmartGlass app seems to suggest that no leaderboard exists for this game at all, so I'm wondering if there's something else going on here.

(FWIW, we didn't use the Party Mode that prevents achievements from unlocking, and she definitely played using my profile.)

Do you think these achievements might ever unlock, or is my wife just S.O.L.? She doesn't care, but I care for her.

Look at them in the Achievements app. If they say "Done...Unlocking" that means there's server lag going on and they'll unlock eventually.

Also, I assume you're online but that's something else to check. Achievements don't unlock offline on XB1.

If neither of those 2 things are the problem, you're probably out of luck.

Sounds like we are. Oh well. The console was definitely online (videos were uploaded as we played), and I don't see the "Done...unlocking" text anywhere in the app. Just a bunch of lock icons.

Check her profile page on xbox.com to see if they unlocked there.

That's the crazy thing. It doesn't show up under "Recently Played". The game doesn't show up at all under "Achievements". But:

Ouch on Crysis 3, at least I only paid like $5-$6 for it digitally. Cool on the rest though, and I will finally get my Xbox One in the middle of September. So does this mean that Battlestations Pacific and Crysis 3 will be Backwards Compatible to the XB1? Or does that not start until November when BC is officially launched?

If anyone cares, I canceled my preorder of the limited Froza XBone (the cool looking blue console), and instead preordered the limited Halo 5 XBone, which looks a little cooler, and comes with a game I actually want...

Weird thing though is that since it comes out a week before the game, it only includes a download code and no disc, but it comes with a steelbook case for the disc, only, no disc, obviously... weird. Why not just release it the same time as the game, with the disc in the case?
