Lol @ the idea that time is running out for Xbox. If anything, it's the exact opposite. Since launch, they have given us 2-3 substantial updates and new features. Released 2-3 times the amount of games as the PS4, and most (if not all of them) are great (Peggle 2, Powerstar Golf, Forza, PvZ, Dead Rising, Titanfall etc). Compare that to literally Killzone and Knack. The system is much more future proof than the PS4, granted slightly less powerful right now. Still a better controller, cool Kinect shit, better front end and OS, utilizes the Cloud...
I could go on and on but basically, MS has improved the system and been outspoken on a daily basis since launch. Sony hasn't done shit. The end

I've never seen cool Kinect shit, beyond being able to pause my Netflix without finding the remote. And that was on the last system. I'm getting a One tomorrow. Can't wait to see how they've vastly improved that POS.

And why exactly is the XO "much more future-proof" than the PS4? It doesn't run multiplatform games as well and is less powerful. It also didn't sell as well either in the US or worldwide. What sort of a future is it where that is preferable?
You're talking out of your ass again -- but what else is new?

Not going to reply to the nonsense above about all those great free to play PC games on Ps4...
Anyways. Twitch updated and we can now stream properly on the Xbox One. Well, almost. It hangs at "testing bandwith" or something, but it's almost here

Feel free, though, to reply to your nonsense about how the XO is "much more future proof" than the PS4. Why is that? Will we no longer have functioning hands in the future?

I've watched side by side comparisons of most of the multiplatform games of the two systems on Digital Foundry, and thought the only game that really looked all that different was Tomb Raider, with 60 fps vs 30 for the XO.
The XO controller feels better for FPS than the DS4, but maybe I'm just still getting used to it.

I think you'll see (and have seen) plenty of innovation coming out of indie games; they can afford to take chances that the AAA franchises can't. I can't seem to be able to get my brain in a place where I can appreciate them as much as I know I should, though.
I don't understand the suggestion that "all Sony wants to do is help sell small games and depend on that market". I think they're trying to be open to everyone and everything, responding to the frustration many developers had with Microsoft during the 360 era. Microsoft has said that they want to do the same, although they don't appear to be there quite yet.

- Microsoft has already confirmed the Xbox One will support DirectX 12. More will be announced by MS later this month (March 20th). If I was a betting man, Microsoft will also announce (and have up on the Xbox store) the first round of titles apart of the ID@Xbox program on the same day.
- 95 independent developers have already been confirmed to be apart of ID@Xbox, however, they have all signed clauses allowing them not to speak of the details of the program until Microsoft is ready to release it to everyone (remember, they said each console can be made a dev kit).
- Rumor is one of those titles is Minecraft.

The XO has had a slower start due to price and lack of free to play games like the PS4 has. Having said that, the XO is one great exclusive away from catching. Titanfall will sell systems if I was a betting man. It might not be an answer like Halo was, but it should do very nicely to entice potential owners.

I own both systems and I like both. I do like the PS4 a little more for minor reasons like how it starts playing games quicker, and for the free monthly PS Plus games we get. But I like the XO a lot as well - even if I never use the Kinect or all it's "cool shit". I never thought the difference in resolution was all that noticeable -- though I suppose the numbers don't lie and it does seem like the XO must be somewhat less powerful than the PS4.
I just think that saying that the XO is "much more future proof" is beyond stupid and I can't even imagine what that's based on -- it's only more future proof if you're likely to soon contract Multiple Sclerosis, Myasthenia Gravis, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Lou Gehrig Disease or whatever it was Phil Collins developed.

Picked up my Titanfall XB1 last night. Plug it in this morning and a 560MB update is taking incredibly long. I can't even set up my account so I can start downloading Titanfall. Sometimes, I hate these new systems.

So I moved my Xbox One. Kinect is unplugged completely.
Now, when I turn the system on, it doesn't sign me in, but I can select my profile (no password required), and it logs me in without a hitch. This is acceptable to me.
Fuck, I should have had this connected to the projector from the start.

Yep, in any normal setup Kinect should recognize you and log you in.
Otherwise, "kinect sign in", "yes". Or use your controller. And no password should be required.
When I had the TV go through the Xbox One, it was always fun to enter the room when my wife was watching it, and the Xbox will always recognize me and say "Hi Raul!".

It was forcing me to enter a password before Kinect and I got to be pals, but looking further, it's apparently because I hadn't updated my Live account in about eight billion years, and auto-signin wouldn't function unless some things were touched outside of the console realm. Probably wasn't an issue for people without old, dusty accounts like mine. Sorry for incorrectly assuming it was the same for everyone.

Yeah, it's not a huge deal to sign in with a button, but still every time I turn it back on, I do have to sign in again which is very stupid and not required with the 360. It's one of those little annoyances they include just to incentivize you to keep using the Kinect. "Look, it automatically recognizes you and signs you in!" Great, but I'd rather just auto-sign me in since I'm the only one in my house who uses it.

yeah, i was going to say, this isn't right. when i grew a beard, the fucking thing wouldn't recognize me. so i had to click on my profile and it would sign me in.
