Bomber Crew doesn't look like my kind of game, but it does look to be deep and challenging.

Windbound on the other hand looks nice but sounds pretty bad.

That is all.
I finally broke down and purchased one for my daughter for Christmas the other day through a Newegg deal($452 after tax). I wasn't planning on getting one this soon but the Xbox One I currently have keeps shutting down for some reason and I have not figured out the cause of it.

Excellent deal for the Series S coming up at Target. Even better if you you have a Red Card.

I've seen these in stock at a few stores lately.

What happened to pre installs at MS.com? I’ve always preordered and had something to download, even if only 10MB. Now, my last 2 purchases, it says install to, but next page is an information page on how to install. Never saw that before.

Anyone know if there’s a reason for no more pre-installs?

Yes, as I said it says “install to”, but when you hit that button there’s no choice of Xbox to install to. It’s gone. That first part is still there, but again button gets you no where.

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

Maybe the code isn't final yet. I don't know why anyone would allow or even want a game installed to their console before it has gone "gold".

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

It’s a pre install. It doesn’t always install whole game. Sometimes just a 10MB download, then release day full install. I’m surely not the only one that pre installs.

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

Why would anyone even want a 10MB useless “pre-install” for a game not coming out for months?

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

Isn't the idea of a pre-install so that not everybody is slamming the download servers on the actual day of release? I'd use the option more if I were more involved in AAA title gaming.

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

I have no issues with downloading a full launch game download 48-72 hours before a game releases. That way you're ready to go at Midnight Eastern/9PM PT. But I see no advantage or reason to download a 10MB file for a game that will be released in two months. It has to reserve the HDD space for a future install and just takes up space. There's no reason to do that and therefore no reason to offer it.
I have preordered several PS5 games and they just show as a countdown clock until launch. They will automatically download a couple of days before the game launches and are ready to go at 9PM. What more do you need?

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

I'd rather know the space is reserved for the game(s) I pre-ordered* instead of finding out they didn't install on the night of release because my SSD was full. The 10MB placeholder thing is weird, but

*I don't actually pay for pre-orders, I just buy a game when it comes out, though I do sometimes do the pre-install for upcoming Game Pass games.

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

I don't think pre installing is weird at all. I do it all the time. I don't memorize every release date of every game I plan on checking out or the date it starts on game pass. You pre install it and put the tile on your home screen groupings it reminds you 'oh yeah that's a thing I can play.' There'd be lots of games I'd forget to try until a week or two after they were available if I didn't do the pre installs.

But don't have an answer why it's not showing you where to download it to. I always do it from the console, not from the web.

It also doesn't reserve the space of the whole game, so not like it's wasted space. It preloads the 10mb file or whatever it is. That causes it to auto download when it's available without you having to do it manually. Which again, if you're adding a few game pass ones and don't have release dates memorized, makes sense. Just an organization tool / auto download hack really.

I was gonna do this but I can’t justify the cost. Especially when I don’t play the games that this was intended for. The elite I mean.

CD Keys is selling 3 mo GPU subscriptions for $23.50. Seems like as good a price as we see all year. I stocked back up.
