Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

Just got back from Toys R Us. The register/computer let me use both the 10.00 and 5.00 off coupons on each Toy Story Blu-Ray. That brought them down to 1.99 each plus tax. I was fully prepared to only be allowed to use 1 coupon per disk but it accepted both with no need for an over-ride by the cashier.

Me too. I was only going to use the two $10 coupons, but the guy in front of me used all 4 MFR coupons. So I figured if he can do it, so can I.

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

Thanks for posting this. Previously I was going to hit Target and use two $5 off coupons, one for each movie. I would have ended up paying about $20 or so.

I went to Toys R Us yesterday to pre-order and got A Bug's Life for $9.99.
Today, I went to TRU with both $10 off coupons and both $5 off coupons. At first, the cashier said that the two $5 off coupons wouldn't take anything off and to just use the $10 off coupons. But, I had picked up a $5.99 card game and a 20oz bottle of pop. She rang everything up and then asked for the two $5 off coupons. My total was $3.46 for Toy Story 1 & 2 blu-ray packages, pop and card game.

So, thanks to this deal and the cashier saying she would apply all 4 coupons without me asking and prepared for only the two $10 coupons being accepted I got a great deal. A better one was last week for Princess and the Frog for free with pre-order and that $10 off coupon, but I didn't really want PatF.

I consider A Bugs Life + Toy Story 1 + Toy Story 2 + $5.99 card game and $1.59 bottle of pop for a total of $24ish($5 + $5 pre-order + $9.99 ABL + $3.46 out of pocket when picking up TS1 & TS2) to be a great deal and I am quite happy.
I can gift my DVD copy of A Bugs Life that I had from years ago to a family member since I now have it on Blu.

In front of me was another couponer. I think she got the same Toy Story 1 & 2 deal that I did. She had New Moon blu-ray in her transaction and was trying to get that $16 off coupon to apply to just the one. The cashier did not let that one through and spoke with the manager after the customer said it should be applicable to just the one movie and not required to buy all 4. The cashier and manager agreed that all four had to be purchased, so the lady had the cashier remove New Moon.

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

Just curious... to those of you who used both the $5 and $10 coupons... Did you give them the entire 8" X 11" sheet for each coupon or did you cut each one out?

Was wondering if they might be more likely to take them if it's the whole sheet. Yesterday when I was pre-ordering, the cashier in the TRU electronics section told me that they've been having problems with fraudulent coupons and he wasn't sure if they could even take coupons.

same thing for me just now. the guy at the register was great. i handed him all 4 coupons (which i had cut out of the 8 1/2 x 11" paper) and he wasn't sure if it would take all of them but he scanned them it and they worked with no problems. i added in a pack of m&m's for the wife just in case i needed the extra product so i was out the door for $5.38. not a bad day's work.

Does the computer take off the discount from other products you may be buying if your movie total comes out to be free and you still have remaining discounts left?

I don't understand why its so accepted by everyone to use BOTH coupons on each movie on this forum, but over at Blu-ray.com everyone is considering it coupon fraud and you're an ass if you did it.

I went the TRU route as well with no preorder. They took all 4 coupons with no problems. $6.47 out the door. Thanks again for posting all the coupons!

I was going to pick them up at Toys (I preordered there) after work, but forgot the preorder card. I'm wondering if I should just go in with the four coupons and pick them up instead, doesn't seem like I would be missing out.

I gave them the whole sheet. I thought it might help. But, it's probably not necessary. The fellow in front of me didn't give them the whole sheet.

I wasn't going to force the issue. If they only accepted the $10 coupons, that would have been fine with me. They chose to accept both, so I don't see the problem.

Same here. If she had said I could only use one coupon for each, I would not have argued. Apparently both us, and entire company of Toys R Us are guilty of coupon fraud.

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

I used the 2 $10 upgrade coupons and the 2 $5 new release coupons with success! I did it at the electronics counter, highly recommended. The guy practically high-fived me when he saw the total. I am so glad I did this!!! I just traded my DVD of Toy Story at FYW yesterday for $6, so for $6.36 (w/ tax) I got TS1&2 on Blu! Almost as good as the Hanna Barberra Big Lots deals last year!

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

I'm still waiting to hear from someone who pulled off The Ultimate Toy Story Deal, which would consist of pre-ordering at TRU AND using ALL 6 coupons/rebates ($10-$10-$8-$8-$5-$5). Which, if the first DVD came to $5 after the error $20 discount, would mean getting $7 worth of free stuff, or really $24 if you count the movie tickets, just for agreeing to TAKE both Toy Story Blu-rays and one other one. We would need to crown this individual the new king of the forum.

I always assumed that fine print meant you couldn't use more than one of the SAME coupon on an item. Otherwise Target's own coupon policy violates all the manufacturers' coupon policies, because Target allows one store coupon and one manufacturer's coupon. Last I checked that's more than "one coupon per specified item purchased." These coupons also say cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer and since every store is offering some kind of deal on these right now...

Um, how is it fraud? they are legitimate coupons for different purposes. Only a d-bag cashier will read any sort of fine print, which is in-conclusive and vague, and not allow. And, they scan without problems.

Disney can be awesome sometimes. I got a free Blu-ray of my choice on my birthday for being a rewards member, no company has ever done that, so why wouldnt they want these to work? Do you think they dont know that there are out there?

The La Mirada, CA store only had enough for pre-orders. Lame.

People that went the pre-order route, did anybody have any success adding a filler item to get the total over $5 and use the $5 coupon?

I actually had to go the opposite route. The young guy at electronics read the fine print and refused to even try and scan all four. The nice woman at customer service (the only register open) scanned them all willingly and was amazed what a great deal it was and what good taste I had in movies (I'm not sure she would appreciate the full breadth of my collection though!).
