I made a big (45 items) order on the free shipping deal last week, and I have now received the weirdest wrong item yet. I ordered THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT on DVD, and I got it today...but it's a Region 2 PAL version from Pathe in a Region 1 NTSC version from Artisan box.

To be fair, it's the first real muck-up from GoHastings in a while for me.

It probably is a seller that duped an unsuspecting clerk at the store - they saw the title, matched with the box and off it went into the used inventory pool. Sorry to hear about it but the customer service there will definitely take care of it no questions asked.

I got an email from Hastings saying the code was "ONELASTBLAST", but when I enter that into the promo code field when I go to check out, it says it is invalid. For the heck of it, I tried "ONELASTBASH", and it worked! Go figure.

Yeah - I just noticed - they totally screwed up! The website says Onelastbash and the email says onelastblast. They are gonna hear from people on this one. Jeesh.

As usual, there were a few really good deals to be had if you had a wishlist and were up at 1 A.M. EST. Almost all the best deals are gone by morning.

I was on the site when the sale was posted on it. And it did say the code was "ONELASTBLAST". But when I entered the code it said it was invalid. I just thought maybe the sale had not started yet. Then I reloaded the page & I notice it now said "ONELASTBASH". When I entered the that code it worked. I had only 2 items in my cart at the time and I went back to find 2 more itemd. But when I entered the code it did not deduct the 40% of from any item. I removed one item and it still did nothing. I had to wait about 15 minuted before the code starting to work for me again. Even when checking out it told me I had a problem with the order. It said check the item in "red". I looked all over the place and could not find anything wrong. I went through the checkout process again and it finally worked.

So is there a typical day of the week/time of day that their new sale offers start? I like the site but as most have said the biggest issue is getting items ordered while still available.

1 to 2 AM E.S.T. is when sales go into effect. You have to use a wishlist, most of the best deals still go very quickly. It's harder to give a more precise time because the codes often don't immediately work on the site.

Any particular day (night) of the week more likely than others? I feel like I have to check every few hours once a handful of wish list items are in stock.

You could sign-up for email offers. There are deals all the time and that's how I know about sales that don't involve a code. I think it gets sent out alphabetically so if your email has a number as its first character then you would get the emails earlier than say someone with "z" as their first character in their email.

Got a few PV's recently and it was a little disappointing that there versions seems to be "Rental" or Feature film only when in the past they would have the full disc of the film without the dvd.

Its a pain in the butt to have to return these on your dime.

Its a hit or miss with PV's ONLY if you are expecting retail versions. I have also received a mix of retail and 'Rental Only' versions but can't really complain for the low low price. However, if this happened to you upon ordering 'Used', then you have grounds to complain

Would you guys mind listing which PVs you received that were rental-only versions? Might help others who are thinking of buying those titles.

In particular, do you know if The Paperboy is a rental-only version without extras?
