Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
Ouch, if that's true and the package only counts as one fulfillment credit.
I guess if you absolutely must have those 3 DVDs now, then yeah, it's a good deal. A modicum of patience will save you a lot, though--Disney titles are regularly on sale for $15 or so, and sometimes better when buying in quantity, resulting in Gift Cards from Best Buy or whatever.
Cycling an account at the DMC would get you about 50% off that price by using one as an enrollment selection and buying the other 2 as fulfillments. So for $66, you can buy the package, or for $25+45=70, you can get 9 titles.
As you say, though, it's a good deal for some!

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
I was wondering if anyone knew timeframes for new releases to be enrollment titles? I'm guessing something like Lilo & Stitch 2 Disc will be a good 6 months or so before it is, if ever?

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
There's no consistency, AFAIK. Pixar Shorts Volume 1 became an enrollment title within 2 months. Other titles have never become enrollments.
I think Disney probably pays attention to enrollment rates, and has certain goals, and if those goals aren't being met, adds some attractive titles to the available selection.
If they have a bunch of L&S 1-disc versions lying around, then I would think it's unlikely that the 2-disc versions would become enrollment selections.
But you never, ever, know.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
Hello Guys! I'm a new member and just join DMC yesterday.
I've got a code from Disney snail mail, I think it is 6/3 or 7/3. It is more expensive than 7:2 but you do get Disney tote bag :-).
This is the terms:
As a Disney Movie Club member, all you need to do is buy 4 movies at regular Club prices in the next 24 months (starting at $19.95 per DVD), plus shipping and processing of $3.95 for the first title in each order, and $1.00 for each additional title in that same order. You may cancel your membership at any time after purchasing the 4 movies.
By agreeing to purchase at least 4 regular-priced movies in the next 24 months, you qualify to receive 5 Disney movies of your choice from the list of titles currently available from the Disney Movie Club (DVD format only) for $1.99 each. Shipping and processing is free. Save even more when you sign up with a credit card, and pay just $1.00 total. Please allow 2-4 weeks to receive your first shipment.
YOU MAY ALSO TAKE A 6TH MOVIE NOW AT THE SPECIAL PRICE OF JUST $11.95 (DVD format only), PLUS YOU PAY NO ADDITIONAL SHIPPING AND PROCESSING CHARGE. This Bonus Movie will even count towards your purchase commitment, so you'll only need to purchase 3 more movies in the next 24 months instead of 4.
PLUS YOU CAN SAVE EVEN MORE by selecting a 7TH MOVIE NOW FOR the special price of JUST $8.95 (DVD format only) AND STILL PAY NO ADDITIONAL SHIPPING AND PROCESSING CHARGE.
The code is 4863.
Hope it will be useful for someone!
Regards.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
Well, nobody said anything about Blu-ray. That certainly does change everything.
How do you feel about going back and editing your post to reflect the fact that it's a Blu-ray set?
I'm going to try to delete my posts about the matter, since they are no longer relevant, and they contribute nothing to discussion since it was due to miscommunication (not that my posts have ever been accused of contributing to discussion...).
Edit: OK, deleted my other posts. I'll kill this one if you kill the others. (That sounds like a line from a movie--probably shouldn't be in the Disney thread.)

I dont foresee Disney doing much different, at least with their good animated stuff.. Chicken Little will always be a enrollment choice.. cant say the same for 101 Dalmations or something else along those lines.

That works out to a totebag for $8. Not bad, if you're interested. And thanks for the additional code. You never know when codes stop working, so new ones are always appreciated. (Side note: nice to see an informative post from a "new member!")
The "7th movie" deal is OK, too. Due to limited availability of product at the DMC, and the fact that DVDs in the 7:2 code work out to $7.20 each, AND the fact that simple free shipping codes seem far and few between these days, cycling accounts isn't all that easy. So $8.95 for an extra title you want seems pretty good to me. It only raises the average price of each DVD by $.18 (allowing for the totebag at $8). A $7.38 average is still pretty good (or $8.18, factoring in the totebag and calling it free), lest we forget the only option used to be 5:4 accounts that worked out to $10 average prices...

Reason I ask is that I did the 2/$50 BR sale & neither title has the indicator on them - but they did qualify as the B1 since all my other titles were at my sale offer.

When did they have the mouse indicators? In your cart, or in your order history? If in history, how long before they showed?

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
A stupid question! Some of the clubs allow more than one membership at a time, like BMG. Does Disney allow more than one membership per household, or just one? Also, is it more worthwhile to do one, fulfill quickly, cancel and re-enroll?

Is it just me, or is anyone else having trouble with their website? ... in particular, the main page where it usually shows your featured selection? For some reason, mine hasn't been showing up right for almost a week now...and I've tried using both Firefox & IE

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
@dbashaggy: It's not a stupid question, but it is a frequently asked one. I would suggest reading back through the last few pages of posts in this thread to see similar discussions about cycling accounts. I know I answered this question myself with my opinion about it within the last month or so, and again less than three months ago, and I'm not the only one. To answer the first part of your post, the DMC only allows 1 membership at a time per household. That can also be seen a few pages back where someone tried to apply with a family member's (mom's?) name in the same house, and got rejected.
@jpdude: No problem here. I just responded negatively a few minutes ago to the Featured Title. Using IE8. Try clearing your cookies for anything Disney or go.com related, and clearing out your Temporary Internet Files folder (from the Internet Options--not manually). I've had the DMC leave behind some random stuff in the TIF folder before that then interfered with proper page loading on subsequent visits.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
I'm getting frustrated. After enrolling in January, I placed an order containing the Disneyland Secrets Treasure. After two weeks of "Processing", it was erased from my order history without notice. I eventually received a letter saying it was sold out.
Two weeks ago I placed an order with Dr. Syn and Chronological Donald v4. After two weeks of "Processing", they were erased from my order history without notice. I just got an email saying they're shipping the rest of the order. Chronological Donald v4 is still listed for sale on the site.
I have not exceeded the 3 Treasures per account limit. In fact I haven't been able to order a single Treasure. Am I the only one having items (Treasures) cancelled from their order?

^It's not "3 Treasures per account" but:
"Discounted selections are limited to 3 units per title, per order. A Member may not purchase more than 3 discounted units of any single title during the life of his/her membership."
So even with Treasures you would need to order 4 of a single title *at a discounted price* to be in violation of the TOS.
Others have reported "3 maximum of *any* title" but I've been unable to locate that policy on any printed matter or the website.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5
I checked earlier today. On the "home" page, my account shows a light blue block where the information should be. No links apparent anywhere in the block but all other links work correctly. I used IE7, Firefox, and IE-Tab w/Firefox on my primary system and IE6 and Firefox on another system that's *never* been to DMC... ever. Neither worked, cookies and temp files cleared or not. I would report it to them but they seem to have removed any type of "contact us" other than the phone.

I got the email today concerning the $10 blu-ray. You have to put it in your cart before the discount appears. Atleast thats how it was for me when I tried it.

My wife ran into this today. She was going to use birthday money to order the Pinocchio/Jungle Book combo. She called and reported the problem. She was told that tech support would be notified and to give it 24 hours. Hopefully, this gets fixed soon.

^I just found a "contact us" link on the site and attempted to do just that to report the problem but got this:
"Please note: Our 'Contact Us' functionality is currently not working."
Makes it kind of hard to report problems... especially those that have been occuring for over a week... on the *main* page! It makes you wonder who programs the site? How do they keep their job? Does no one actually test code anymore?
Maybe her call will do some good.

I wish I could report that it did, but we're still not able to access it. Can other forum members verify that they are currently able to see the main page properly? Also, aside from the main page, is there any way of viewing the Featured Selection? Usually we want to decline those, but this time we actually want it!

If you call the DMC phone number (1-800-362-4587) I think there is a menu option to accept or decline the Featured title. If there isn't, I'm sure a rep would be happy to help you do so over the phone.
