Yes, you do. It's also worth noting that even as a V.I.P., declining the selection doesn't guarantee that Disney won't charge you for it and ship it anyway. We've been burned several times this way.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

^You must continue to decline the featured title. It might be possible to get a "positive response" type account (they only send *if* you order) but I've never tried with DMC.

I agree about some type of ordering flag indicating whether or not a selection counts toward fulfillment. Considering that a "discounted" title typically does *not* count even if it's higher than the $19.95 minimum it would be very handy. I had 2 fulfillments left when I ordered both Zorro sets but only the full priced set counted. The discounted set (even though it was $19.98) did not count.

That sucks.

Same thing here. I was hoping both Zs would count. I'm down to one more fulfullment but it hasn't been easy. I thought I'd enjoy being a member however this has been a major pain instead. It's a shame really as I love Disney movies.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

^Well, I've got my last fulfillment planned and after that I'm done with DMC for a while.

This is my 2nd time to join and this time was to get the color Zorro S2 set (I got the S1 set with the first membership). I got D3, D4, & D5 as enrollments (D1 & D2 were not available at the time). By the time I got around to ordering D1 & D2 the Treasures had been announced and the color ones immediately went OOP and off the site. I even tried to do a phone order for them as they were still in the current catalog. It got cancelled. While I much prefer the B/W Treasures sets it'd be nice to have the full season in color should I decide to unload it somewhere. If it were not for being almost a year since I joined I'd be tempted to call them up and try to exchange those 3 *unopened* enrollment disks for something else...

I'd rather not call in, because I will get belligerent and that will be no good for anyone.
I made a simple request to cancel the order, since they took their sweet ole time processing it, thus making the order useless since I was planning to use most of the discs as Christmas presents. Now the order and account sit in limbo waiting for me to enter a new credit card, but I no longer want the order. They refuse to do anything unless I call in.
I don't know why the frack they take so damn long to process orders. I'm still waiting for orders placed in early November. If you call and complain nicely they will probably take care of it at no "monetary" cost to you. Ask them for a return label or ask them what happens if you refuse the order.

Exactly. My initial order was placed in November, and included discs that were to be given as Christmas presents.
I had to rush out a week before holiday and buy gifts to replace the discs that were apparently still not coming after a month.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

Anyone know where I can get a list of the Blu-Ray discs available trough the Disney Movie Club? Catalog, not enrollment.

Thanks.

Wanted to ask one more time about the benefits of fulfilling an account and becoming VIP (vs. just closing the account). Thanks.

We just got burned on the Up Blu-Ray for almost $40. And this month, I have had to reject my selection TWICE and they still sent me a notice telling me to respond.

Hey, I'm NOT crazy! I had a selection show up in the mail about 10 days ago that I SWORE I declined, first time this has happened to me.

Considering how long it's been since I placed an actual order from the DMC, and this issue with the selections, I'll just be canceling my account as soon as that return is processed.

PS - the "refused, return to sender" message written on unwanted selections works for DMC just as well as Columbia House. And cuts out the need to argue with cast members about shipping charges and "why don't you just keep it" and other pitches.

For the 2nd time in a row, I have been sent a featured title I rejected. Worst part is I rejected the damn title twice already, still got reminders to respond, sent an e-mail and still got the damn Monsters Inc. Blu-Ray. I am sick and tired of this club. Time to call and bitch to get my $80 dollars back. As a word of warning to others

CANCEL ONCE YOU FULFILL AN ACCOUNT!!!!!!

What really sucks is that the refunds can take up to eight weeks to be processed!

So do you work for the DMC?
You could certainly learn a lot from listening to some suggestions and feedback here at this forum.
It's always easier to say "just email Disney with your concerns", but I think many people think that those type of communications get lost in the shuffle... or in some cases just thrown in the trash.

As a start, I would like to make a couple of observations and suggestions.

First, both the regular mail correspondence and the emails received from the DMC often contain language that refers to using a discount code to get a specified deal on their current DMC account.
However, since the website has been redesigned quite a while ago, there is no longer any way to use any discount codes.
This seems very deceptive on the part of the DMC, and very frustrating for the customer.

Next, the featured selection of the month is a deplorable situation.
The only way to ever get free shipping, it to buy 2 titles at over-inflated prices that you probably do not want anyway.
It would be so much better if the DMC offered free shipping for any order of 3 or more titles or something similar.
Just as well, more than just one option for the featured selection would be nice.

I will leave it there for now.
Thank you for coming in and posting here.
Hopefully we will see more of you and you can help the members through these means.

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

My current offer is buy 1 at regular price, get Free Shipping on the entire order + 33% off additional DVD's or Blu-Rays. The 33% off might do away with any sigle order fulfillments though (I have 2 to buy). Maybe I could do 2 seperate orders of 1 item and get Free Shipping on both?

On the left side of the main page there is button/link called "other offers." Click on that and you'll go to a page with a few added options with the top one being "no offer used." A scroll over says that sale prices will revert to regular prices. Perhaps that will allow you to order more than one item and help you complete your fulfillment

But I want to buy it with free shipping, so that's why I was considering trying two seperate orders to see if that worked. I haven't tried it yet though. I'm lazy

Re: Disney Movie Club part 5

Do a phone order. Or do your initial order online and then call and have them adjust the price of the discounted item so it isn't discounted anymore. That used to work in the past. I can't imagine that they'd take away the free shipping.
